The Fortnite Cube Sprite is one of several new Sprites currently found in the Chapter 7 Season 4 game files, with Meowscles, BodySlam, Headshot, Squibbly and Overshield appearing in the same leaked batch. This is a new Sprite expected to join Fortnite Override rather than simply a reference to the older Cube Sprite variant from Chapter 7 Season 3.

Epic Games has not officially announced the new Fortnite Cube Sprite yet, so its release date, ability and unlock method remain unknown. Its presence alongside the other upcoming Season 4 Sprites does, however, give collectors another addition to watch as Override continues.

What is the Fortnite Cube Sprite?

The Fortnite Cube Sprite appears in a datamined list of upcoming Chapter 7 Season 4 Sprites shared by Fortnite leakers Krowe and FNBRIntel.

The leaked lineup currently includes:

  • Meowscles
  • BodySlam
  • Cube
  • Headshot
  • Squibbly
  • Overshield

Headshot also has a Gold version in the files, while Squibbly and Overshield are currently associated with wider variant support. Cube was listed as its own Sprite without any additional variant information.

That makes the Fortnite Cube Sprite one of the more mysterious additions in the batch because its name could potentially connect to several different parts of Fortnite history.

Is the new Cube Sprite the same as the old Cube variant?

No confirmed connection has been revealed.

Fortnite already used Cube as the name of a Sprite variant during Chapter 7 Season 3. That variant was one of several collectible forms alongside Gold, Gummy, Galaxy, Gem, Holofoil and Quack variants.

The newly leaked Fortnite Cube Sprite, however, appears in the list of actual upcoming Sprite names rather than the Season 4 variant list.

That distinction suggests Cube is being treated as its own Sprite type during Override.

It is therefore important not to confuse searches for the new Cube Sprite with the older Cube variant system. Unless Epic reveals otherwise, they should be considered separate pieces of Sprite content.

Is the Fortnite Cube Sprite based on Kevin the Cube?

Epic has not confirmed what the Fortnite Cube Sprite represents.

The obvious possibility is a connection to Fortnite’s famous Cube, better known by players as Kevin. The Cube has been one of the game’s most recognisable recurring objects since its original appearance in Chapter 1, so it would make sense for Epic to eventually turn it into a collectible Sprite.

However, the leaked name alone does not prove that this Sprite is Kevin.

No official render, description or ability has yet confirmed its appearance, which means linking it directly to Kevin would currently be speculation.

Until images or additional game data surface, Cube is simply the codename or name attached to the upcoming Sprite.

When is the Fortnite Cube Sprite coming out?

There is currently no confirmed Fortnite Cube Sprite release date.

Epic has described Chapter 7 Season 4 as introducing an entirely new generation of Sprites with new powers, new variants and additional ways to discover them. The company has also made it clear that the Sprite system will continue developing throughout Override rather than remaining fixed at the season’s launch lineup.

The leaked Cube Sprite appears to be part of that later expansion.

Several Sprite-related dates are already scheduled during the season, but there is currently no evidence placing Cube on one particular New Sprite Day or update.

Until Fortnite activates it, there is no confirmed date players need to prepare for.

How do you get the Cube Sprite in Fortnite?

There is currently no confirmed method for getting the Fortnite Cube Sprite.

Override changed the Sprite collection system considerably. Players can now find Sprites through Cheat Codes during Battle Royale matches, extract them to permanently add them to their collection and unlock certain special variants through Lobby Hacks entered into the Admin Panel.

That gives Epic several possible ways to release Cube.

The standard Sprite could eventually enter the Cheat Code loot pool, appear through a special event or be connected to a particular seasonal mechanic. There is currently no known Lobby Hack code specifically for Cube.

What ability will the Fortnite Cube Sprite have?

The Fortnite Cube Sprite ability has not been revealed.

Chapter 7 Season 4 Sprites provide gameplay effects while equipped, and Epic has confirmed that the new generation features new powers alongside the expanded collection.

The Cube name naturally opens the door to plenty of possibilities based on Fortnite’s previous Cube mechanics, but no ability should be considered confirmed until Epic reveals the Sprite or additional reliable game data appears.

For now, there is no factual basis for claiming that it will provide shields, movement, corruption effects or any other specific power.

Will the Cube Sprite have Gold or other variants?

No additional variants have currently been identified for the new Fortnite Cube Sprite.

This is different from some of the other Sprites in the same leak. Headshot is specifically listed with a Gold variant, while Squibbly and Overshield reportedly have all variants represented in the files.

Cube currently appears only as a base Sprite.

That does not necessarily mean special Cube forms will never exist. Fortnite Override continues to use multiple Sprite variants, and Epic could add more as the season progresses.

Is the Cube Sprite available now?

No. The Fortnite Cube Sprite is currently an upcoming leaked Sprite rather than part of the live collection.

The information comes from datamined Season 4 files and has not yet been formally announced by Epic Games. Leaked Sprite content can change before release, and some files may remain unused or be adjusted before players ever see them in-game.

The strongest information currently available is therefore that a Sprite named Cube is being worked on for Chapter 7 Season 4 alongside Meowscles, BodySlam, Headshot, Squibbly and Overshield.

Once Epic activates the Fortnite Cube Sprite, its appearance should finally answer the biggest question surrounding it: whether Cube really does mean Fortnite is turning one of the most famous objects in its history into another tiny collectible Sprite.
