Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 6 map is the original island from Season 6, when kevin the cube, floating island and loot lake changed the way players explored Fortnite Battle Royale. Kevin the Cube became a central part of Fortnite’s story after rolling across the island and reaching Loot Lake. At the start of Season 6, the strange purple power lifted the island out of the lake, leaving a floating mass that would move over different parts of the map.

This historical picture is taken from update v6.31. You can see the complete island below, then open the previous season’s map alongside it to compare the locations. The chapter history is separate from modern Fortnite OG, which revisits many of these places years later.

Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 6 map: Biggest changes

The floating island was a moving landmark rather than a permanent new town. It travelled around the island, visiting runes while the ground beneath changed. The corrupted areas gave parts of the map a darker look, and the season’s Fortnitemares period introduced additional supernatural activity.

Season 5 introduced the desert and Lazy Links. Season 6 kept that geography but added the Cube storyline, so the same map suddenly had an enormous floating island and new purple patches. Loot Lake was no longer simply water around a central building.

Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 6 map: New and changed locations

The places associated with this season include Loot Lake, the floating island, corrupted zones and Haunted Castle. The floating island didn’t stay in one place during the season. If you’re looking for it on a particular patch, check when the screenshot was taken; the v6.31 map is a late-season snapshot after several Cube-related changes.

Those differences are easiest to spot when you examine the map itself. Some are entire terrain changes, while others are a distinctive building or a named location where players began landing more often.

What happened after the Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 6 map?

Season 7 later brought a huge snowy biome to the southwest, replacing the map’s warmest-looking countryside with icy cliffs and settlements. The complete Chapter 1 map gallery has all ten original seasons in chronological order, making it easy to follow the changes without confusing the first release with the newer Fortnite OG recreation.

Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 6 map: Why archived versions can differ

These historical map images show the island at a particular game update, rather than one unchanging layout for the whole season. The floating island didn’t stay in one place during the season. If you’re looking for it on a particular patch, check when the screenshot was taken; the v6.31 map is a late-season snapshot after several Cube-related changes. If you’re comparing an old stream or clip with the image above, look at the patch and the specific locations rather than assuming a mismatch means the archive is wrong.
