Fisch Dutchman’s Rod is a Halloween 2026 reward unlocked by completing Dutchman’s Blessing, the sixth ritual in FischFright 3. To access the recipe, clear the first five rituals, reach Hex Stage III at Beatrix’s cauldron, and awaken three Cemetery Skeletal Hands. You then offer five fish carrying particular mutations, a Coffin and Dutchman’s Grasp, plus three coloured Skulls.
The main challenge with Fisch Dutchman’s Rod is preparing every offering before you start the ritual’s timed sequence. Dutchman’s Grasp alone costs 25,000 Treats; the other materials require fishing and separate Halloween progression. Here’s how to reach the ritual circle, satisfy the prerequisites, collect every ingredient and claim the rod without losing a precious attempt.
Where to start the Fisch Dutchman’s Rod ritual
At Moosewood’s eastern docks, board the green Flying Dutchman and tell its captain to sail to Caustic Hallow. From the island’s central fountain, follow the path to the Cemetery. Frankenstein operates the ritual circle around GPS -15104, 146, -9621. Talk to him and choose Show me the rituals to inspect requirements without paying. Starting a ritual costs 100 Treats and begins its timer.

The Fisch Dutchman’s Rod recipe stays locked until you’ve completed the first five ceremonies: Vexing (also called Hexed), Scary Relic, Haunted, Jack-o-Moon and Boglin. These must be completed in order, each with its own items. If an earlier ritual is incomplete, follow our complete guide to all eleven Cemetery rituals to gather the offerings before coming back.
Fisch Dutchman’s Rod prerequisites
| Requirement | What you need |
|---|---|
| Previous rituals | Finish Boglin, the fifth ritual, and the earlier four |
| Beatrix’s Cauldron | Reach Hex Stage III, requiring 75 Hex Energy |
| Skeletal Hands | Awaken three of the five hands around the Cemetery circle |
| Dutchman’s Blessing | Seven lantern offerings, three Skull offerings and 100 Treats to begin |
Reach Hex Stage III by handing Witch’s Ingredients to Beatrix, whose cauldron is near the large tree in Caustic Hallow. Dirty Candy Corn gives one energy; Crushed Bone and Strange Root give two; Giant Mushroom and Spider Eye give three; Bat Wing and Raven Feather give four; Dark Art Skull gives five. The cauldron’s displayed energy is what counts. Save rare Dark Art Skulls for the Skeleton Hands unless you have more than the rituals require.
Before you can offer Skulls for the Fisch Dutchman’s Rod, three Skeletal Hands must be awake. Across the full Cemetery system, their unlock materials include Davy’s Rose, Ethereal Rose, Fable Rose, Gourdemort’s Rose and a Dark Art Skull. Davy’s Rose sells for 5,000 Treats aboard the roaming Flying Dutchman, while the other flowers come from separate NPC chains. The Ritual Roses walkthrough explains the relevant quests and hand locations.
All Dutchman’s Blessing fish, skulls and offerings
Gather these items before activating the Fisch Dutchman’s Rod ritual. Each fish needs the exact named mutation, and the Boglin Mummy Mackerel must be neither Shiny nor Sparkling. Skulls go into awakened hands; the other seven items go into the Jack-o’-Lantern offering positions.
| Offering | Where it goes | Getting it |
|---|---|---|
| Doomed Jagged Bone | Lantern | Jagged Bone with Doomed mutation |
| Vile Poltergeist Perch | Lantern | Poltergeist Perch with Vile mutation |
| Grim Skeleton Sturgeon | Lantern | Skeleton Sturgeon with Grim mutation |
| Boglin Mummy Mackerel | Lantern | Boglin-mutated fish, not Shiny or Sparkling |
| Eldritch Corpse Cod | Lantern | Corpse Cod with Eldritch mutation |
| Coffin | Lantern | Halloween event catch |
| Dutchman’s Grasp | Lantern | 25,000 Treats from Flying Dutchman merchant |
| Grim Skull | Skeletal Hand | Grim Frightful Pool or event reward |
| Vile Skull | Skeletal Hand | Vile Frightful Pool or event reward |
| Doomed (Doom) Skull | Skeletal Hand | Doomed Frightful Pool or event reward |
To find the skulls for Fisch Dutchman’s Rod, watch the server’s Frightful Pool announcements. Grim, Vile and Doomed pools have their own matching drops, and the event’s Eldritch pools can also provide difficult materials. The Boglin Branch and Eldritch rods are useful for catching the two named mutations linked to their passives; see the Boglin Branch quest for the earlier rod’s unlock. Check every fish’s mutation label before handing it over.
Where to get Dutchman’s Grasp and 25,000 Treats
The Dutchman Merchant rides aboard the ship flying over Caustic Hallow, so look into the sky instead of only searching its streets. The Grasp costs 25,000 Treats and only one is needed. If you haven’t bought Davy’s Rose, save another 5,000 Treats. The first six rituals together cost at least 600 Treats in entry fees, bringing the Grasp-plus-ritual minimum to 25,600 Treats.
To fund Fisch Dutchman’s Rod, complete major island quests, fish active Frightful Pools and knock at the sixteen village houses using your Candy Bucket. The Halloween NPC rewards pay more Treats than single door visits. Save Skulls and uniquely mutated catches instead of selling them for a small amount; replacing a missing ritual offering can take far longer than earning the currency.
How to finish Dutchman’s Blessing
Speak to Frankenstein and inspect Dutchman’s Blessing. Confirm that the prior rituals are done, Hex Stage III is reached and three Skeletal Hands show as awake. Carry the five mutated fish, Coffin, Grasp and three 2026 Skulls. Pay 100 Treats to start the ceremony, then quickly put each item into its matching lantern or hand slot. Your inventory alone does not count as an offering; items must be placed in the circle.
Other players can help supply the items in the active ritual. Once all required slots are filled, the ritual completes and Fisch Dutchman’s Rod appears in your rod inventory. If an offering is refused, confirm that the fish has the exact mutation and that the Boglin Mummy Mackerel is not Shiny or Sparkling. Older-event Skulls and Frightful Caskets are not substitutes for the current event Skulls and Coffin.

Fisch Dutchman’s Rod stats and Dutchman’s Curse
Current published guides show 180% Luck, 0.1 Control, 10% Resilience and unlimited maximum weight. Lure Speed values conflict between versions of the rod tooltip, so inspect the equipped rod’s current stat screen before choosing enchants around that figure. The key passive is the Dutchman’s Curse mutation, reported to multiply fish sale value by nine.
The mutation matters for progressing past Fisch Dutchman’s Rod. Frankenstein’s Omniscient ritual requires a Dutchman’s Curse Jagged Bone, so keep one when you land it. If you also need the Doomsekkar mutation for another offering, see our Doomsekkar Rod walkthrough for its Perfect Catch and ghost tasks.
Why the Fisch Dutchman’s Rod ritual isn’t unlocking
If Dutchman’s Blessing is still greyed out, check whether Boglin is marked complete, your cauldron has 75 Hex Energy and three hands are awakened. If the ritual starts but will not finish, inspect the mutations and hand placement rather than throwing extra ordinary fish into the circle. The correct Coffin is a separate item from a Frightful Casket.
Finally, prepare every item before paying Frankenstein: the offering window is timed. The Fisch Dutchman’s Rod unlock is confirmed when the rod is awarded in-game. For broader event access and progression, our FischFright 3 event guide explains the Halloween island and activities.
