The Dune Awakening PS5 Release Date is September 22, 2026 for the Standard Edition, with the UK PlayStation Store listing the unlock at 12:00 PM UTC. That converts to 1:00 PM BST in the UK on September 22. Deluxe and Ultimate pre-orders received a five-day Head Start from September 17.
The Dune Awakening PS5 Release Date now matters for more than the original PC-to-console port. The PS5 version launches with Update 1.5, including full single-player, custom difficulty, the conclusion of Book One, console-tailored UI and controls, and the large set of changes added to the PC game over its first year.

| Edition / access | Date and time |
|---|---|
| Standard Edition | 22 September 2026 – 12:00 PM UTC / 1:00 PM BST on the UK PlayStation Store |
| Deluxe / Ultimate Head Start | 17 September 2026 – five days before the standard launch |
| Physical PS5 edition | 22 September 2026 |
The UK PlayStation Store currently lists the Standard Edition at £39.99. Because the store provides an exact 12:00 PM UTC timestamp, the Dune Awakening PS5 Release Date can be converted confidently to 1:00 PM BST for UK players rather than guessed from a generic midnight launch.
What performance modes are on PS5?
The Dune Awakening PS5 Release Date version includes two graphics modes. Performance mode targets 60fps at Dynamic 4K, while Quality mode targets 30fps at Dynamic 4K. PlayStation 5 Pro renders at a higher native resolution in both modes and adds enhanced visuals in Quality mode.
Funcom has also rebuilt parts of the UI and controls for console and uses DualSense vibration and trigger features. The PlayStation Store marks the game as PS5 Pro Enhanced.
Does Dune Awakening have single-player on PS5?
Yes. The Dune Awakening PS5 Release Date coincides with the full single-player mode. It is not a cut-down tutorial or private lobby: Funcom says the entire game, including the story, Deep Desert, challenges and rewards, can be played solo.
Single-player uses a separate character from multiplayer and includes three difficulty presets plus detailed custom settings. Our Dune Awakening single player guide explains exactly what changes in solo play.
Do you need PS Plus?
PlayStation Plus is required for online multiplayer on PS5. The PlayStation Store labels the game with PS Plus required for online play and supports up to 60 online players. The new solo mode supports one player, but this article does not claim broader offline functionality beyond what Funcom has explicitly documented.
Is there cross-play on PS5 at launch?
No broad platform cross-play is available on the Dune Awakening PS5 Release Date. Funcom has confirmed full cross-play as a post-launch feature but has not announced a date. Xbox and Microsoft Store PC have their own cross-play/Play Anywhere relationship, which does not mean PS5 can join those players on September 22.
What is included at the PS5 launch?
The Dune Awakening PS5 Release Date version includes the complete base game plus the first year of updates. That means optional PvP, separate PvE and PvP Deep Desert instances, new map locations, rebuilt Landsraad progression, specialization and augmentation, base reconstruction, vehicle recovery, extra Testing Stations and the final Book One story content.
September 22 also brings the optional Filmic Archive DLC, sold separately, with film-inspired armour, stillsuits, Sardaukar building pieces, weapons and emotes. The six-piece Matron’s Decor login reward is available to players who log in between September 17 and October 22.
Is there a physical PS5 version?
Yes. The Dune Awakening PS5 Release Date also applies to the physical PlayStation 5 edition, which Funcom says launches on September 22. Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe is distributing the physical release across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Australia and New Zealand. That gives UK buyers a disc option rather than forcing every PS5 purchase through the digital store.
