DayZ 1.30 motorcycles bring two bikes into the survival game: the Jana 50 and the Bitrak 682. Both arrive with the free Update 1.30, so you don’t have to buy Badlands simply to ride a motorcycle. The Jana is the smaller option, while the Bitrak offers more protection and a different riding experience.

Finding a motorcycle is only half the job. You’ll need to inspect its parts, make sure it can start and learn how to handle a vehicle that can throw you off in a crash. Both bikes use the new two-wheel physics, which feels quite different from driving a car around Chernarus.

The Jana 50 is the lightweight bike and a straightforward way to cover more ground than you can on foot. The Bitrak 682 is a larger machine and has protective attachment options. Neither is designed to carry a passenger, so two survivors travelling together will need separate bikes or a larger vehicle.

Where to find DayZ 1.30 motorcycles

DayZ 1.30 motorcycles can appear through the server’s vehicle economy. Search likely vehicle areas and examine any bike you find rather than assuming it’s already roadworthy. The new vehicles aren’t exclusive to Nasdara: Update 1.30 adds them across the existing maps as well.

DayZ 1.30 motorcycles spawn according to each server’s vehicle economy. Check likely vehicle areas and mark any bike that needs repairs so you can return with its missing parts.

Inspect the motorcycle’s inventory and component condition. DayZ 1.30 motorcycles use motorcycle-specific spark plugs; check whether the required plug is installed and functional before attempting to start the engine. A vehicle found abandoned may also lack fuel or have damaged parts that need attention.

Restore whatever components the bike actually needs, fuel it and mount it using your platform’s vehicle controls. Check the attachment slots rather than assuming a car’s replacement parts fit a motorcycle. The in-game vehicle inventory is the clearest place to see what is installed, missing or ruined.

Motorcycle repairs and protective attachments

A spare motorcycle spark plug is a useful thing to keep when preparing for a longer journey. Other repairs depend on the damaged components shown by the bike. If you’ve found a Bitrak 682, inspect its additional protective attachment slots as well; those options are one of its differences from the Jana 50.

That protection doesn’t turn the Bitrak into an armoured car. The rider remains exposed, and a high-speed accident can still end a run. Treat damaged motorcycle parts seriously, especially before entering rocky or unfamiliar country.

How motorcycle handling and crashes work

DayZ 1.30 motorcycles use two-wheel movement and leaning rather than the same behaviour as a four-wheeled vehicle. Steering sharply at speed, braking late and crossing rough terrain can destabilise the bike. Crashes can send the rider into a ragdoll fall, with the risk of injury and damaged equipment.

Practise with DayZ 1.30 motorcycles on a clear road. Accelerate gently, brake before corners and reduce speed on rough ground, especially before travelling across Nasdara.

Can you use motorcycles without DayZ Badlands?

Yes. DayZ 1.30 motorcycles are part of the free update for existing players, while Badlands is a separate paid expansion centred on Nasdara. You can look for the new bikes on updated Chernarus and Livonia servers, subject to the server’s own vehicle spawn settings.

The new Nasdara landscape gives them a different purpose, with exposed desert travel and long distances between places to shelter. Carry food, water and backup supplies when travelling there. A broken bike far from a settlement can be much more dangerous than a short walk after a breakdown in a temperate area.

DayZ 1.30 motorcycles: checklist before riding

Find a bike, inspect its condition, look for a working motorcycle spark plug, check fuel and repair any damaged components. On the Bitrak, inspect its protection slots too. Start somewhere with room to practise cornering and braking before trying a long journey or riding through enemy territory.

DayZ 1.30 motorcycles carry one rider apiece. Friends travelling together will need more than one bike or another vehicle.
