Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 Pro graphics settings include three modes: Ray Tracing, Performance and Ray Tracing Pro. CD Projekt RED recommends Ray Tracing as the default, targeting 60 FPS with improved reflections and shadows. Performance can reach up to 90 FPS on VRR displays, while Ray Tracing Pro adds more lighting at lower target frame rates.

Update 2.5 adds further PS5 Pro optimisations, better HDR and a new console FOV slider. Choosing a mode is mostly about what your television supports and whether you prefer smooth movement or the extra lighting effects. Here’s how the documented modes compare.

Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 Pro graphics settings: All three graphics modes

Ray Tracing mode is CDPR’s default recommendation, with ray-traced reflections on vehicle paint and transparent objects and ray-traced shadows at a stable 60 FPS target. It balances visual enhancements with smooth play rather than focusing on maximum ray-tracing effects.

Performance mode targets 60 FPS on ordinary displays and up to 90 FPS with VRR. Ray Tracing Pro adds skylight, emissive lighting and ambient occlusion; it runs at 40 FPS on compatible high-refresh displays or targets 30 FPS without high refresh support.

Which PS5 Pro graphics mode suits your display?

For Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 Pro graphics settings, start with Ray Tracing because CDPR recommends it as a balanced default. If you’re using a VRR-capable display and prefer the highest available frame rate for driving and combat, switch to Performance and compare movement in the same Night City location.

Ray Tracing Pro is the option for players who value the additional lighting effects. Its lower target frame rate will be noticeable if you normally play at 60 FPS, particularly during quick camera turns. There isn’t one objectively best setting for every display.

Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 Pro graphics settings: What display features matter?

A VRR-enabled television or monitor lets Performance mode target up to 90 FPS where supported. High-refresh-rate display compatibility also matters to the 40 FPS target of Ray Tracing Pro. Without high refresh support, that mode is designed around a 30 FPS target.

Check your display and PS5 Settings → Screen and Video → Video Output for VRR and 120 Hz output. For Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 Pro graphics settings, a compatible screen changes which frame-rate targets are achievable. Don’t assume buying a PS5 Pro alone makes your television capable of showing every mode’s highest target.

Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 Pro graphics settings: What PSSR changes

PSSR is PlayStation’s AI upscaling system and forms part of the dedicated PS5 Pro upgrade. It allows the image to be reconstructed from a lower rendering resolution, balancing visual quality and speed. The April update also improved ray-traced object handling and reduced shadow popping.

Update 2.5 adds further PS5 Pro performance optimisations, but CDPR didn’t announce a new replacement table of FPS targets. The established three graphics modes still provide the clearest documented options.

Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 Pro graphics settings: FOV and HDR after Update 2.5

The October patch adds a field-of-view slider on consoles and improves HDR rendering to deliver more accurate brightness and colour on compatible screens. It also fixes a PS5 issue where adjusting HDR previously had no effect.

Set HDR while viewing a familiar bright and dark scene, then adjust the FOV separately. A wider view can feel more comfortable during combat, but does not replace Ray Tracing or Performance mode choices.

Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 Pro graphics settings: Why a mode or setting may be missing

Make sure Cyberpunk 2077 is fully updated on PS5 Pro and restart the game after downloading the patch. Look in the game’s graphics and video settings, not the PlayStation display calibration screen, for the relevant in-game controls.

If you’re running the PS4 edition through backward compatibility, check that you have installed the supported PS5 version. CDPR’s dedicated PS5 Pro update applies to the enhanced current-generation game.

Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 Pro graphics settings: A practical setup for different players

On a 60 Hz display, Ray Tracing gives you the official balanced default. For a 120 Hz VRR display, test Performance if you value a smoother frame rate, then compare with the lighting effects of Ray Tracing. For a high-refresh screen and a preference for richer lighting, try Ray Tracing Pro.

These are choices, not measured guarantees for every street, combat encounter or patch state. Keep one graphics mode fixed while adjusting FOV and HDR so you can tell which change actually affects the picture.

ModeTargetBest reason to use it
Ray TracingStable 60 FPSBalanced reflections and shadows
Performance60 FPS; up to 90 with VRRMore responsive display output
Ray Tracing Pro40 FPS on HFR, otherwise 30 FPSMore comprehensive lighting effects
