Clash Royale Trophy Road is the permanent 1v1 progression path, and its ceiling now reaches 14,000 trophies after the 2026 extensions. That is substantially higher than several older versions of the game, so historical guides capped at 7,500, 9,000, 10,000 or 12,000 no longer describe the live ladder. Trophy Road also controls important feature unlocks and feeds into Ranked access and Seasonal Trophy Road. It is now also the gateway to the highest permanent Arenas and several modern progression systems.
Each Arena creates a progression checkpoint, with Trophy Gates protecting players from falling into the previous Arena once the threshold has been secured. Current deck slots, Hero access and endgame modes also depend on Arena or trophy milestones. The table below gives the permanent October thresholds, followed by the rules that matter near Ranked and the 14,000-trophy ceiling. Current Clash Royale Trophy Road thresholds also determine when several modern deck systems and competitive routes become available.
How Clash Royale Trophy Road works

Clash Royale Trophy Road awards and removes trophies through 1v1 ladder battles. The amount won or lost depends partly on the trophy difference between opponents. Reaching a new Arena passes its Trophy Gate, which protects that Arena threshold from normal losses.
Level gates can still prevent entry into a new Arena if the account’s King Tower Level is below the required level. Trophy progress therefore cannot bypass every form of account development.
The Trophy Gate system is what makes Clash Royale Trophy Road feel different from a simple rating number. Once a new Arena is reached, normal losses cannot push the account back into the previous Arena, although level gates can still stop entry into the next one until the King Tower requirement is met. That gives players a permanent checkpoint while still requiring the collection to keep pace with the climb.
Matchmaking on Clash Royale Trophy Road is based around trophy count rather than the levels of the cards in your deck. That makes upgrading a coherent battle deck important because the road itself does not guarantee equal card levels, and a level gate can still stop the next Arena even after you have enough trophies. The permanent checkpoints protect progress, but they do not remove the need to keep the collection competitive as opponents get stronger.
All Clash Royale Trophy Road Arenas
The permanent road contains 32 Arenas and ends at 14,000 trophies. The latest high-end extension added the 12,000, 12,500, 13,000 and 13,500 thresholds on the way to the permanent ceiling.

Important feature unlocks
The Evolution Slot unlocks at Arena 3, the Hero Slot at Arena 5 and the Wild Slot at Arena 10. Those milestones determine whether Evolutions, Heroes and Champions can be activated in a normal deck.
Ranked has a separate seasonal access requirement. For September and October 2026, Supercell’s dated update sets the gate at 13,500 trophies, with 14,000 scheduled for November unless another change is announced.
Several modern systems now sit directly on Clash Royale Trophy Road. The Evolution Slot arrives at Arena 3, the Hero Slot at Arena 5 and the Wild Slot at Arena 10, so climbing does more than unlock cards and chest levels. Late in the road, the current Ranked requirement also uses a trophy threshold, which makes permanent ladder progress part of competitive access even though Ranked itself resets seasonally.

What happens at 14,000 trophies
Completing Clash Royale Trophy Road unlocks Seasonal Trophy Road. That mode starts with its own seasonal trophy count while permanent Trophy Road progress remains intact. Seasonal Arena 2 then introduces a card-ban challenge based on the cards used to win in Seasonal Arena 1.
At season end, Seasonal Trophy Road resets, but permanent Clash Royale Trophy Road does not. That distinction answers the common question about whether the main ladder is wiped every month.
At 14,000 trophies, Clash Royale Trophy Road hands progression over to Seasonal Trophy Road without erasing the permanent climb. Seasonal Arena 1 runs from zero to 500 seasonal trophies, then Seasonal Arena 2 bans the eight cards with the most wins from the first Arena and boosts cards below Level 15. The seasonal count resets at season end, while the permanent 14,000-trophy achievement remains intact.
Trophy Road versus Ranked
Trophy Road is the permanent ladder and progression map. Ranked is the seven-league competitive mode with steps, caps and a seasonal reset. A player can sit at a permanent Arena gate while beginning a fresh Ranked climb.
That makes Clash Royale Trophy Road account progression infrastructure, not simply another name for the competitive league system. Ranked and Seasonal Trophy Road branch from that progress but keep their own seasonal rules.
