Blue Archive Highlander Railroad Runaway returned on October 27, 2026, bringing back the event story, a free one-star Aoba, repeatable Quests, Challenges and the railway minigame. The full event is called Highlander Railroad Runaway Incident: And the Train Disappeared, and you need to clear Normal Mission 2-3 to take part.
The playable stages end on November 10 at 01:59 GMT, while the shop, minigame and reward exchanges remain available until November 17 at 01:59 GMT. You can make the most of that time by knowing which stages can be swept and how to activate a Specialized Student currency bonus.
How to unlock the Blue Archive Highlander Railroad Runaway event
Clear Normal Mission 2-3, then open the event from the lobby. Its main sections include Story, Quests, Challenges, Tasks, Shop and Mini Game. Start with Story if you want Aoba before spending AP on repeatable material farming.
Clearing Story 01: Central Control Center Planning Office gives Aoba (1★). If you already own her, Nexon awards one Aoba Eleph and one Eligma instead. The Blue Archive Aoba unlock guide covers the exact stage and duplicate-owner reward.
Blue Archive Highlander Railroad Runaway Quests and Sweeps
Story clears give rewards such as Pyroxenes and event currency. Quests award items including Credit Points and Artifacts, and they’re the stages intended for repeat farming. Only Quests support Sweeps; Story and Challenges do not.
Check the available Quest rewards before using AP, then repeat a suitable Quest to collect the materials you need. The loot shown on each stage is more useful than a generic farming route when you’re deciding which event currency or Artifact to collect next.

How Specialized Students increase currency rewards
The Blue Archive Highlander Railroad Runaway event has Specialized Students who increase specific event-currency rewards. Open Event Lobby → Specialized Students → Event Currency to see the bonus attached to each eligible student.
Nexon says the effect applies to repeat rewards in Story and Quest stages. Once a bonus is recorded for a stage, it stays applied and also counts when you use Sweeps. It doesn’t multiply the first-clear rewards, so set up the relevant bonus before starting a longer Quest farming session.
Challenges and the Extra (Ex) Stage
The three Challenge stages opened on October 27 at 19:00 GMT. Clear all three to unlock the Extra (Ex) Stage. Completing Extra awards a Secret Tech Sheet, which makes it worth attempting if your team can manage the harder fight.
You can obtain the event completion stamp without beating Extra. Challenges only award first-clear and three-star prizes; they don’t provide additional repeat rewards. That means Quests, not repeated Challenge runs, are the better place to spend AP when farming.
Blue Archive Highlander Railroad Runaway shop and event currency
Use the event shop to exchange currencies from Story and Quests for the items you want. Each shop listing shows its cost and stock, so check the live prices before choosing which Quest to repeat. The publisher’s update doesn’t give a complete item-by-item shop table.
The Tasks menu offers additional rewards, including Titles and Credit Points. Claim completed tasks while their reward window is open. If you’re saving for a particular shop item, compare its currency cost with your balance and the rewards offered by your available Quests.

How the Highlander train minigame works
The railway minigame uses Highlander Stickers to place track pieces. Each confirmed placement costs 150 Stickers; moving, swapping and rotating a placed track is free. Connect Departure, Layover and Arrival, then run the train to earn round rewards and any bonuses along its route.
Our Highlander Railroad minigame guide covers the controls, train speed and the Skip option available from round seven. It’s a separate activity from Quests, but it shares the wider event’s reward window.
Blue Archive Highlander Railroad Runaway end date and shop deadline
The Story, Quests and Challenges end on November 10 at 01:59 GMT. The shop, train minigame and reward claims and exchanges close on November 17 at 01:59 GMT. If you’re still earning currency from stages, finish that before the first date.
Nexon also specifies that unused event currencies will be converted into Credit Points at a 1:1 ratio after the event period. Use the exchange window for items you want rather than counting on any unspent balance remaining as Highlander event currency.
