Black Desert Treasure Codex is found under Menu (ESC), then Adventure (F5). It shows the treasure items you can work towards, the important materials you already own, where to hunt for missing pieces and the crafting method for each treasure.
If you’ve been farming a map or compass piece for weeks, it’s a useful way to see what’s left without keeping your own checklist. The September 23 update also gave Allan Serbin’s Landscape a shortcut to the Codex.
Where to find the Black Desert Treasure Codex

Press ESC, go to Adventure (F5) and open Treasure Codex. Select the treasure you’re working on to see its key ingredients, how they’re obtained and the associated crafting information. Masterpiece Quests also appear where applicable.
The Black Desert Treasure Codex highlights the key crafting materials you already own. You can see at a glance which pieces still need farming before picking a monster zone. The patch notes describe tracking owned materials; they do not promise that the Codex searches every storage location.
How to find missing treasure pieces
Select a missing material, then open Monster Zone Info or How to Obtain. That takes you to the relevant farming information for the selected component. It’s much easier than travelling to a zone only to discover you’ve been hunting the wrong piece.
The game’s treasure systems cover items such as the Archaeologist’s Map, Upgraded Compass, Rich Merchant’s Ring and Upgraded Telescope. Each has its own components and farming sources. Check your target piece rather than assuming every monster associated with a treasure can drop all its materials.
If you use Allan Serbin’s Landscape, its Treasure Codex button opens the zone information tied to the selected painting. It helps you find the source of a material, but doesn’t provide an extra drop-rate buff.
How to craft treasure with Yaz’s Combinables Pouch
When you’ve collected all the components for a supported recipe, open the Black Desert Treasure Codex and choose Yaz’s Combinables Pouch. Pearl Abyss says the pouch opens with the required materials automatically registered, saving you from arranging them manually first.
Check the registered pieces, then complete the combination shown for that treasure. The Codex doesn’t award missing ingredients, so you’ll still need to farm them before the pouch can prepare the recipe.
If the ingredients aren’t all registered, check the recipe and your available materials again. The developer’s instructions say automatic registration happens when every required component is owned; they do not describe a separate manual import from storage.
Does the Treasure Codex remember old treasures?
Yes. The Black Desert Treasure Codex records the first completion date, even for treasures crafted before the September 23 update. Finished entries appear in colour, so older achievements can still be recognised without making another copy.
If you’ve made more than one copy of the same treasure, the date shown is for the first completion. It doesn’t reset to the date of your newest copy.
Does the Black Desert Treasure Codex increase drop rates?
No. The Black Desert Treasure Codex helps you track and assemble materials. It doesn’t change monster drop rates or activate Landscape Paint in the background.
Landscape Paint is a separate system that can add special treasure drops while grinding in eligible zones. Its restrictions and probabilities are covered in our Landscape and La Orzeca Paint guides.
Before starting a treasure grind, open the Black Desert Treasure Codex, find the piece you’re missing and follow its zone information. Once you have all the required parts, use the Yaz’s Combinables Pouch button to put them together.
