AMD Adrenalin 26.10.2 arrived on 30 October 2026 with ten fixes for Radeon users. Among them are crashes in Valor Mortis and Steam, plus a Death Stranding 2 freeze when FSR is enabled. It’s an optional release, and nine issues remain on AMD’s known-problems list.

This update is worth considering when your GPU and symptoms match a confirmed fix. It isn’t compulsory, and War Thunder players with RX 5000 cards have a good reason to check the notes first: AMD recommends the older 26.9.1 driver for their timeout.

AMD Adrenalin 26.10.2 lists the RX 7600 shutdown separately from the wider RX 7000 Valor Mortis timeout. A full computer power-off and a display-driver timeout aren’t the same symptom, and AMD hasn’t claimed it has fixed every crash that could happen in that game.

Death Stranding 2 is another headline fix. AMD places the intermittent RX 9000 hang with FSR enabled under Fixed Issues, but still tells affected players to disable FSR if it continues. Our Death Stranding 2 FSR crash guide covers both options.

Cyberpunk 2077 remains on the known-issues list. The reported trigger combines FSR Upscaling, Radeon Anti-Lag, in-game frame generation and video playing on a second monitor on some RX 9000 cards. AMD says to turn off in-game frame generation. Our Cyberpunk Radeon guide explains what to check.

For War Thunder on Radeon RX 5000, AMD Adrenalin 26.10.2 isn’t the recommended workaround. AMD explicitly points affected players to Adrenalin 26.9.1. If you’re considering a downgrade, follow AMD’s Cleanup Utility instructions and get the matching older package for your card.

Which Radeon GPUs support AMD Adrenalin 26.10.2?

AMD lists the RX 9070, 9060 and 9050 series; the RX 7900, 7800, 7700, 7650 and 7600 series; the RX 6900, 6800, 6700, 6600, 6500 and 6400 series; and the RX 5700, 5600, 5500 and 5300 series. Supported Radeon AI PRO and Radeon PRO workstation cards are also named in the official compatibility list.

AMD Adrenalin 26.10.2 also supports listed notebook Radeon GPUs and certain Ryzen and Athlon processors with integrated graphics. It’s a reference driver for laptops, though, and may not include every feature supplied by the system manufacturer. AMD recommends OEM drivers for full compatibility.

Handheld gaming devices are excluded from this release package. Use the handheld maker’s validated graphics driver rather than installing the generic Radeon download because it mentions a similar GPU architecture.

AMD Adrenalin 26.10.2 supports Windows 11 version 21H2 and later or Windows 10 64-bit version 21H2 and later, subject to the specific AMD product. Check the model and operating-system requirements before installing rather than using the driver number alone.

How to install AMD Adrenalin 26.10.2

To find your current driver, open AMD Software and search for System Settings. Under Hardware & Drivers, expand Software & Driver Details. Then open Manage Updates, choose the three-dot menu and select Recommended + Optional in Preferences to see optional packages.

Choose AMD Adrenalin 26.10.2 only if it is offered for your hardware. You can also use AMD’s official download from the driver release notes after confirming compatibility. Follow the installation prompts, restart when asked, then return to System Settings to verify the version.

One fix addresses Install Manager failing to find optional releases even with Recommended + Optional enabled. If 26.10.2 still isn’t offered, check the model’s compatibility list before downloading manually, especially if you’re on a laptop or handheld.

Should you update, wait or downgrade?

If you have one of the fixed symptoms on the named hardware, AMD Adrenalin 26.10.2 offers a direct reason to update and retest. Keep your game settings the same during the first test so you can tell whether the driver change helps. A Steam launcher crash, an in-game timeout and a system shutdown warrant different follow-up checks if they continue.

If your Radeon RX 5000 card times out in War Thunder, follow AMD’s 26.9.1 recommendation instead of assuming the newer package is always better. For downgrades, AMD recommends its Cleanup Utility; back up your work and follow its official instructions.

AMD Adrenalin 26.10.2 targets particular crashes and driver failures. It doesn’t promise better FPS across every game. The useful question is whether its fixed or known-issues list matches the problem you’re having.
