The Adopt Me Trade License is earned by answering three trading-safety questions at the Safety Hub. Passing unlocks trading for Ultra Rare and Legendary pets, access to your last 30 days of trade history, and the ability to report suspicious transactions. It’s also one of the requirements for the cross-server Trading Hub.
You don’t need to spend Bucks or Robux to take the quiz, and failing isn’t permanent. Here’s how to obtain the license, what its quiz is testing and why you may still be unable to trade a particular pet after passing.
How to get the Adopt Me Trade License
Visit the Safety Hub in Adopt Me and start its Trade License test. Read the three safety scenarios and choose the responses that follow the game’s own trading rules. If you don’t pass, try again. Uplift Games confirms the quiz can be repeated as many times as necessary.
The Adopt Me Trade License isn’t given automatically when you own a Legendary pet. It’s a safety requirement that you complete separately before trading your highest-rarity pets.
What does the Adopt Me Trade License unlock?
| Feature | What it allows |
|---|---|
| Rare-pet trading restrictions | Trade Ultra Rare and Legendary pets |
| Trade history | View trades from the past 30 days |
| Scam reporting | Report trades directly from history |
| Trading Hub | Meet one of three requirements for access |
Open the Adopt Me Trade License toy to inspect your history, or visit the Safety Hub. The history only covers a 30-day window. Reporting a suspicious transaction doesn’t automatically return the pet, and Uplift Games explicitly warns against unsupported trades.
How to answer the Trade License quiz safely
The questions test whether you can recognise scams, not whether you know current trading values. If someone promises to give you a pet back later, or offers payment outside the game’s trade interface, there’s no guarantee they’ll honour it. Keep the complete exchange inside the supported trading system.
The official announcement explains the quiz’s purpose but doesn’t publish an answer-by-answer script. The Adopt Me Trade License is awarded for passing all three safety questions, so read the actual choices on screen rather than trusting made-up button sequences.
Why can’t you trade Legendary pets?
If the game stops you trading a Legendary or Ultra Rare pet, check whether you’ve passed the Safety Hub quiz. Without the Adopt Me Trade License, trading is restricted to lower-rarity pets. Passing removes that particular restriction, though other locks can still apply.
For example, a pet used in an active Trading Hub listing becomes locked until you remove the listing or offer. The Trade License doesn’t override that rule, since the same pet can’t be promised to multiple traders at once.
Do you need the license for the Trading Hub?
Yes. The Adopt Me Trade License is one of three conditions for entering the Trading Hub introduced in July 2026. You must also play for two hours and own a Neon pet. Claim the free Trading Phone from the Guide, then use it to summon a hot air balloon to the Hub.
Our Adopt Me Trading Hub guide explains Robo Todd’s 100-Bucks listings and Robo Rob’s cross-server searches. Those tools are separate from the license quiz, so passing doesn’t automatically create a trading listing.
What if you fail or can’t find the license?
You can retake the three-question test without paying for another attempt. If you already passed, check your toy inventory and the Safety Hub for trade-history access. Don’t send a pet to another player claiming they can activate the license for you.
The Adopt Me Trade License makes higher-rarity trading available, but it’s still worth reviewing every item before confirming an exchange. A trading warning or approved listing doesn’t guarantee two pets have equal trading demand.
