The Adopt Me Gemstone Egg costs 28 Stars in the refreshed Star Rewards system introduced on September 11, 2026. It contains Ultra Rare and Legendary pets, including the new Amethyst Penguin, but you aren’t guaranteed a Legendary hatch. The Amethyst Penguin’s individual chance is just 0.05%.
The Gemstone Egg also brings back several pets from the older Star Rewards track, with one important exception. Here’s what can hatch from it, how to save enough Stars and what the official odds mean if you’re deciding between this egg and the cheaper Royal Fairytale Egg.
How to get the Adopt Me Gemstone Egg
Open the current Star Rewards menu and spend 28 Stars on a Gemstone Egg. You earn a Star from your daily login reward, alongside Bucks. You don’t need to hatch a different egg first, complete a Halloween quest or pay Robux for the Adopt Me Gemstone Egg.
At one Star per eligible daily login, it takes 28 Stars earned to buy one if your balance starts at zero. Any Stars you’ve already saved count towards that amount. The reward menu also offers the Royal Fairytale Egg for 14 Stars, so you could buy two of those instead of one Gemstone Egg.

Adopt Me Gemstone Egg drop rates
Uplift Games published the following Adopt Me Gemstone Egg probabilities when the rewards changed. Ordinary Legendary pets are part of the 9.95% outcome, while Amethyst Penguin has its own 0.05% chance.
| Hatch outcome | Official chance |
|---|---|
| Common, Uncommon or Rare | 0% |
| Ultra Rare | 90% |
| Other Legendary | 9.95% |
| Amethyst Penguin | 0.05% |
A 0.05% chance works out to one chance in 2,000 for any individual egg on average. It doesn’t mean a guaranteed Amethyst Penguin if you open 2,000 eggs. Likewise, 90% Ultra Rare means that most Gemstone Eggs won’t hatch a Legendary pet.
Every pet you can hatch from the Gemstone Egg
The developer names the following pets in the Adopt Me Gemstone Egg pool. The Amethyst Penguin is the new special result; the others come from existing reward families.
| Gemstone Egg pet | Rarity |
|---|---|
| Ginger Cat | Ultra Rare |
| Toucan | Ultra Rare |
| Starfish | Ultra Rare |
| Pomeranian | Ultra Rare |
| Orca | Ultra Rare |
| Golden Griffin | Legendary |
| Golden Dragon | Legendary |
| Golden Unicorn | Legendary |
| Diamond Griffin | Legendary |
| Diamond Dragon | Legendary |
| Amethyst Penguin | Special Legendary, 0.05% |
Those are the published pet names, but Uplift Games doesn’t give a separate percentage for every regular pet inside the Ultra Rare and Legendary groups. It would be misleading to divide the group’s total chance equally across the pets and present that as an official rate.

Can you hatch Diamond Unicorn from the Gemstone Egg?
No. Uplift Games specifically excludes Diamond Unicorn when describing which previous rewards can return through the Adopt Me Gemstone Egg. Diamond Griffin and Diamond Dragon are included. If you’re searching for Diamond Unicorn, saving 28 Stars for this egg won’t give you a chance at that particular pet.
Is the Gemstone Egg better than the Royal Fairytale Egg?
If your priority is Amethyst Penguin or the old higher-rarity Star Rewards pets, the Gemstone Egg is the relevant option. It costs twice as much as Royal Fairytale Egg, whose published outcomes are 40% Rare, 50% Ultra Rare and 10% Legendary. That egg has different pets and doesn’t include Amethyst Penguin.
For the same 28 Stars, you can open two Royal Fairytale Eggs or one Adopt Me Gemstone Egg. Choose based on which pet pool you want, not only the headline Legendary percentage. Neither purchase promises a specific pet, and a high rarity chance doesn’t establish what an individual pet will be worth in trades.
What happened to the older Star Rewards pets?
When the new Star Rewards system launched, players automatically received outstanding rewards from the old track and their next three pending rewards. That was a one-time changeover benefit, not a repeating perk of opening the Gemstone Egg. From then on, saved Stars could be spent directly on whichever reward you wanted.
If you want to compare all the other purchases, our Adopt Me Star Rewards guide lists the complete menu, including the 14-Star egg, Streak Saver and temporary Bucks and XP boost. The Adopt Me Gemstone Egg is simply the most expensive egg in that September reward selection.
