R.E.P.O. Switch 2 is confirmed for 2027. Nintendo announced that semiwork’s physics-based online co-op horror game is coming to Switch 2 during its 28 October 2026 Indie World showcase. The exact Nintendo release day and price have not been announced.
The game is already available on PC, so the 2027 date refers to the new Nintendo edition rather than its first launch anywhere. You enter haunted places, recover valuable objects and try to get them safely to extraction while hostile creatures make every trip a risk.
When is R.E.P.O. Switch 2 releasing?

Nintendo’s announcement specifies a 2027 Switch 2 launch, with no confirmed month or specific UK eShop date. The original Nintendo Switch is not named in this announcement. The PC release is an existing game, not an indication that players on Switch 2 can access it now.
Developer semiwork describes the PC game as up to six-player online co-op. Nintendo confirms online co-op on Switch 2, although a separate console player count has not been published.
R.E.P.O. Switch 2 online co-op gameplay
In R.E.P.O., players work together to extract loot from the haunted remains of humanity. Valuable objects can be heavy, fragile or difficult to manoeuvre. Nintendo names everything from pottery to a piano, and the physics-based grabbing tool makes the weight and handling part of the challenge.
Teams must coordinate while avoiding deadly threats. The danger isn’t just being attacked: dropping something expensive or carrying a large object carelessly can undo the work. That blend of horror, slapstick physics and cooperation is the main appeal.
Are R.E.P.O. Switch 2 maps randomly generated?
Yes. Nintendo describes the levels as procedurally generated, so you shouldn’t expect every run to follow an identical route. Moving loot through a changing haunted environment makes coordination valuable even when players have already completed earlier attempts.
Getting a heavy piano out of a haunted building would be difficult enough without monsters on your heels. That’s where the game’s slapstick physics and horror collide.

Will R.E.P.O. Switch 2 support crossplay?
Nintendo explicitly confirms online co-op, but does not say the Switch 2 edition can matchmake with Steam players. Launching a game on multiple platforms is not the same as confirming crossplay, so avoid promising PC and Switch 2 friends a shared lobby until the developer lists it.
There is also no confirmation of split-screen local play or Nintendo GameShare in the showcase. That differs from Dumpster Gang, for which Nintendo specifically announces GameShare. The games may both be cooperative, but their confirmed sharing features are different.
How do you carry fragile and heavy objects?
The game’s physics-based tool lets players pick up, carry and move loot, with the object’s size and fragility affecting the challenge. A heavy piano requires a different approach from a piece of delicate ceramics, particularly when there are monsters nearby.
The physics tool makes your grip important: a dropped object may be damaged, while moving cautiously gives the monsters more time to close in.
Is this the same kind of horror as other co-op games?
The goal is extraction, not simply defeating every creature you encounter. Players enter changing spaces, gather valuables, protect the haul and try to leave before a dangerous mistake costs them the run. The physics tools make carrying things a shared problem.
Nintendo describes a cooperative horror experience rather than competitive player-versus-player matches. Players share the same extraction objective, moving valuables to safety instead of racing one another to a finish line.
R.E.P.O. Switch 2: what Nintendo has confirmed
R.E.P.O. Switch 2 will bring online co-op, procedurally generated haunted environments and physics-based loot extraction to Nintendo’s newer console in 2027. Those features are confirmed in Nintendo’s official Indie World recap.
The final date, Nintendo price, exact platform matchmaking and any special console controls will need an updated developer or eShop listing. Our Indie World recap covers the other games announced alongside it.
