Kingdom of Night classes give players five choices: Barbarian, Knight, Rogue, Necromancer and Sorcerer. Each has its own skills and equipment choices in the 1980s-set action RPG, which also supports local two-player co-op on Xbox.
The Xbox version is scheduled for early November 2026, although Xbox Wire and the UK Store show different dates. Here’s how Kingdom of Night classes fit the game’s story, local co-op and character customisation before you buy.
Kingdom of Night classes: the complete list
Xbox lists Barbarian, Knight, Rogue, Necromancer and Sorcerer. Each class has its own skills and equipment, giving you ways to shape a character as you move through Miami’s demon-filled streets. Your initial class determines which skill tree you start developing.

Barbarian and Knight: two martial choices
Barbarian and Knight are separate options for anyone drawn to the game’s martial characters. They have individual skill trees, so don’t treat them as identical simply because both sound like familiar fantasy archetypes. Try their opening abilities, then build around the equipment and talents you enjoy using.
Rogue, Necromancer and Sorcerer
Rogue, Necromancer and Sorcerer complete the five-class selection. They bring their own skills, equipment and routes through the talent system. Choosing one doesn’t change the town or the game’s central story, but it does change which abilities you develop while fighting its demons.
How Kingdom of Night classes use skill trees
The Kingdom of Night classes each have three skill-tree branches, with ten talents in each branch. You spend points earned through levelling to develop your character. Once your first branch reaches level ten, the developer says you can start investing in another branch, opening up more combinations.
Does Kingdom of Night have co-op on Xbox?
Yes. The Xbox Store lists two-player local co-op alongside solo play. You and a friend can tackle Miami’s demons on the same supported system, bringing different character skills to the fight. Native Xbox online co-op is not listed as a feature of this edition.
How the story works
You play John, a high-school student in 1980s Miami, Arizona. After a cult unleashes Baphomet, demons overrun the town. John sets out to rescue his friends, exploring neighbourhoods, meeting residents and entering demon lairs as the night unfolds.

Can you fight the bosses in any order?
The town is open to exploration, and the developer says its Demon Generals can be challenged in any order. That gives you a choice over which threat to pursue while discovering residents’ stories, finding equipment and exploring the connected map.
Kingdom of Night Xbox release date
Xbox Wire’s 30 October calendar lists 4 November 2026, while the UK Microsoft Store page gives 5 November 2026. Check the live regional product page before planning a timed launch purchase. Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S are both listed as supported platforms.
UK price and preorder promotion
At the time of this check, the UK Store listed a regular price of £16.74 and a preorder offer of £15.06. That is a regional, temporary offer, not a permanent price or a conversion from US dollars. Look at your own checkout price before ordering.
Which Kingdom of Night classes should you play first?
Choose the class whose opening abilities interest you, develop one branch of its skill tree and keep an eye out for equipment from quests, hidden locations and random drops. As you progress, new talents let you branch out. It’s a better way to learn the game than trying to commit to an elaborate build before your first fight.
