BEACONFALL Xbox release is scheduled for 6 November 2026. It brings a quick strategy game about keeping a small island settlement alive while waves of enemies advance through the darkness. Each run is designed to last around 20 to 30 minutes.

Everything revolves around the beacon, which holds back the darkness surrounding the island. It is also a weapon you can strengthen with upgrades. While you’re building up your defences, you need enough villagers left to produce the supplies that keep the settlement running.

BEACONFALL Xbox release date and publisher

Xbox Wire’s 30 October schedule puts BEACONFALL on 6 November, published on Xbox by Desert Water Games. The PC game is already available on Steam from Game Dynasty, whose official description provides more information about the underlying strategy systems. The November date is for the Xbox edition.

How the beacon protects your island

The lighthouse is what keeps the darkness away, so losing control of the area around it puts your settlement at risk. Investing in its upgrades makes it a stronger weapon, but those resources could otherwise go towards buildings and other defences.

BEACONFALL asks you to make trade-offs: spend what you have now to strengthen the lighthouse, or keep production moving so you can afford bigger defences when the next wave comes. Your villagers have to support whichever choice you make.

Buildings, workers and resource management

You construct buildings to improve production or reinforce your settlement. Villagers can work on the economy or help defend the island. The developer says you’ll never have enough hands to do every task at once, so allocating the workforce is one of the game’s main challenges.

Send too many villagers to the towers and production slows. Leave too many working in the village and the next attack can overwhelm your defences. The interesting part is making the change at the right time rather than assigning everyone to one job and forgetting them.

The developer describes enemies appearing from multiple directions. Defences include staffed towers and traps, which means the player’s attention isn’t limited to upgrading one lighthouse. As a wave arrives, you have to work with the protection you built and the villagers available to operate it.

You will face stronger enemies and a final assault before the run is over. The developer also advertises a tactical pause, so you can stop the action to plan your next move instead of trying to manage every building and worker while enemies are attacking.

How long does one run take?

A typical session lasts 20 to 30 minutes. Rather than remaining on one permanent town for weeks, you develop a settlement, fight through escalating dangers and try to survive a final assault. This gives each island a more compact beginning, middle and end.

The BEACONFALL Xbox release uses procedurally generated islands, with changing layouts, scenarios and bosses. A defence that worked well on one map may need to be moved or rebalanced on another. That’s what makes the short sessions worth replaying.

What should you do on a first run?

Start with your economy. Find out what each building produces and how many villagers it needs, then keep enough workers available to operate your defences. As more structures become available, the developer says you can unlock new building specialisations.

When a wave starts, watch which approaches the enemies use. Staff towers and set traps where they can cover those routes, and use tactical pause if you need a moment to reorganise. If the beacon is taking pressure, decide whether to reinforce it or move workers from production into defence.

BEACONFALL Xbox release platforms and availability

Xbox Wire lists the game for 6 November 2026, with Desert Water Games publishing the Xbox version. The short announcement doesn’t list a Game Pass inclusion or Play Anywhere support, so check the Xbox Store for those platform-specific purchase options rather than assuming they are included.

The BEACONFALL Xbox release is built around short but demanding decisions: keep villagers working, make enough resources for the next wave, and upgrade the beacon before your defences collapse. Each new island gives you another chance to find a better balance.
