Titan Quest II Rituals give you control over enemy difficulty, area scaling and character attributes through Ritual Shrines. The Rituals of Ares increase enemy levels, raise the minimum level of earlier areas and respawn ordinary enemies, while the Rituals of Athena can reset attributes and move a character out of Neophyte difficulty.
These choices cost Gold and affect different parts of the game, so it’s worth understanding the result before paying. A harder enemy level isn’t the same as changing your starting difficulty mode, and resetting your attributes isn’t the same as editing your Mastery skill points.
Where to find Titan Quest II Rituals
Titan Quest II Rituals are available at Ritual Shrines in settlements, including Pyrgos. Interact with the shrine to see the Rituals of Ares and Athena. These control enemy scaling, respawning and attribute resets rather than individual Mastery skills.
Once you’ve reached the settlement, check the available rituals and their Gold costs. Selecting an option presents the relevant action, whether you want more challenging enemies, to revisit an older area at a higher level or to readjust your attributes.

Rituals of Ares: raise enemy difficulty
Under Titan Quest II Rituals of Ares, Adjust Difficulty increases enemy levels above their normal level. That makes encounters harder and changes the level of enemies you fight without lowering your hero’s own attributes.
The Adjust Minimum Enemy Level option raises areas that have fallen behind your character’s level. This is useful if you’ve outgrown an early region but still want to return for combat and loot that feel relevant to your current progress.
The third option is Respawn Enemies, which returns ordinary monsters so you can fight through the area again. That can help when gathering resources, earning Gold or looking for the enemy types tied to Charms and other drops.
Rituals of Athena: attributes and difficulty mode
The Titan Quest II Rituals of Athena include Reset Attributes. It refunds your allocated Might, Agility, Vigor and Knowledge points together, letting you rebuild your stat distribution to support different gear or skills.
Exit Neophyte Mode moves a character from the easier Neophyte setting into Normal difficulty. This is a permanent move out of the easier setting, so don’t select it casually if you’re still enjoying the reduced challenge.

Can Titan Quest II Rituals make old areas worth revisiting?
Yes. Raising the minimum level helps stop older parts of the world becoming completely trivial as your character grows. Increasing overall enemy levels makes battles tougher, while respawning monsters gives you fresh encounters in territory you’ve already cleared.
The higher-level enemies can offer more useful loot and more Gold or Experience. That is a good reason to use the difficulty options after mastering the combat, but it also means fights may take longer or become harder to survive.
How boss Remnants work with Titan Quest II Rituals
Some defeated bosses leave behind Remnants. These can be offered at a Ritual Shrine to enable the boss to be summoned again. Return to the boss’s chamber and spend Gold to begin another encounter, giving you a way to challenge the same opponent again for rewards.
This is different from the ordinary Respawn Enemies option. That action brings back normal foes, while Remnants are used for eligible boss rematches. Use the appropriate system depending on whether you’re farming monsters in an area or targeting a particular boss.
Do Titan Quest II Rituals reset Mastery skills?
The character’s Mastery menu handles skill respecs, while the Ritual of Athena resets the four main attributes. If you’re changing both your skills and your stat distribution, review the new build before spending Gold on each part.
Our respec guide covers the character reset options, and the attributes guide explains Might, Agility, Vigor and Knowledge.
Should you increase difficulty using Titan Quest II Rituals?
If you’re comfortably clearing a chapter, raising enemy levels can make the combat more demanding and improve the rewards you earn. If you’re struggling with basic encounters, stay with the existing settings until your equipment and skills catch up. You control the challenge through these shrines, so use them to match the game to your progress.
