Titan Quest II Charms and Relics: How to Socket and Complete Them

Titan Quest II Charms and Relics are socketable equipment upgrades available in Early Access. The December 2025 update added around 40 Charms and Relics, letting you improve weapons, armour, rings and amulets by attaching fragments that grant bonuses. Collecting three fragments of the same type completes the upgrade and adds another effect.

Charms are more common drops tied to enemy types, while Relics are rarer and more powerful. That makes hunting the right creatures useful when you’re strengthening a build, especially after the October 29 Hero Monsters update added another way to find chapter-specific Relic fragments.

How Titan Quest II Charms and Relics work

Titan Quest II Charms and Relics are slotted into compatible equipment, rather than equipped in a separate weapon slot. Open the item and use the socket interface for an eligible weapon, armour piece, ring or amulet. A fragment begins providing a benefit immediately, so you can improve an item before you find all three matching pieces.

When you collect three fragments of the same Charm or Relic, combining them produces an additional completion bonus. You don’t need a completely different item to use each fragment. The system rewards collecting matching pieces while you explore and defeat enemies.

Where to find Titan Quest II Charms and Relics

Charms usually come from enemies that suit their theme. THQ Nordic gives skeletons dropping bones and boars dropping hides as examples. That means you can search for particular enemy groups when you need a Charm associated with them.

Relics are much rarer. Some can drop from tougher opponents or while exploring, and the October 29 patch gives Hero Monsters a high chance to drop Relic fragments appropriate to their chapter. A high chance is not a guaranteed drop on every Hero encounter.

You can look for Hero Monsters in the territories occupied by their regular enemy faction. They appear randomly, so farming involves exploring relevant areas and taking on stronger enemies rather than visiting one permanent spawn marker.

What does a complete Relic do?

One official example is the Essence of Zeus’ Thunderbolt. Its fragments increase attack speed, casting speed and lightning damage, while combining three grants a chance to instantly kill non-boss enemies. That example shows how a completed Relic can offer something more dramatic than the individual fragment bonuses.

Bosses are excluded from the instant-kill effect, so don’t choose the Relic expecting it to eliminate a major boss in one strike. For ordinary enemies, it adds an offensive chance on top of the speed and elemental bonuses.

How to socket Titan Quest II Charms and Relics in equipment

To use Titan Quest II Charms and Relics, start with gear that supports sockets, then select the collected fragments and place them in an appropriate slot. Weapons, armour, rings and amulets are supported categories, but the available sockets depend on the particular item.

Check which bonus suits your Mastery pair before inserting fragments. A lightning-themed Relic is particularly interesting for Storm-focused characters, whereas a character built around physical attacks might value a different item bonus.

What happens when you sell or salvage socketed gear?

Selling or salvaging equipment now returns attached Titan Quest II Charms and Relics to your inventory. That helps avoid losing rare fragments when changing gear. With the October 29 patch, locking your prized equipment also stops Sell All and Salvage All from processing it.

The locked items guide covers those protections, while our crafting guide explains how ordinary affixes and item-level upgrades differ from socketable bonuses.

Best ways to use Titan Quest II Charms and Relics while levelling

When levelling with Titan Quest II Charms and Relics, use the fragments you have rather than waiting for a complete Relic. A single fragment already improves eligible equipment, and you can build towards the stronger completion effect as matching pieces drop.

When you reach a new chapter, pay attention to the enemies in that region. The Hero Monsters introduced on October 29 are worthwhile targets for more chapter-specific fragments, and their stronger abilities provide a tougher fight than normal enemies.
