Titan Quest II multiplayer supports online cooperative play for up to four players. Multiplayer was added to the main PC Early Access client in December 2025, so you can explore the game’s Greek mythology world with friends rather than using a separate preview build.
The current system lets a player host a session and bring friends into the adventure. The January 2027 full release will also bring console versions, with Xbox and PlayStation store pages listing up to four online players. Start by hosting a game through the PC client and inviting your friends with the platform overlay.
How to start Titan Quest II multiplayer
Launch the game on PC and choose Host Multiplayer to create a session. Once the game has started, use the relevant platform’s friends overlay to invite the people you want to join. A friend with an open multiplayer session can also be joined through that platform overlay.
Grimlore originally described this host-and-invite process for its Early Access multiplayer preview. The multiplayer feature was subsequently integrated into the normal PC game in December 2025, removing the need to select a separate test client just to play co-op.

How many people can join Titan Quest II multiplayer?
The maximum stated group size is four players in one session. That means the host plus up to three friends. You can all use different Mastery combinations, so a group can have a weapon-focused fighter, a spellcaster and one or more heroes using traps or summons.
The game also supports single-player. If you prefer to explore the campaign alone, you don’t have to join a multiplayer lobby to access its missions or skill system. Co-op is an additional way to experience the same world.
How to invite friends for Titan Quest II multiplayer
For Titan Quest II multiplayer, create a host session and use the Steam or Epic friends interface to invite the friend you want to join. The early multiplayer setup was based on platform friends, rather than a public lobby browser.
If a friend can’t join, check whether you’re both online in the relevant platform service and whether the host’s game is open to their join request. Make sure both installations are updated to the same current Early Access build.

Does Titan Quest II multiplayer support crossplay?
PC multiplayer and console preorder support are separate announcements. The current PC instructions use platform friends and the game host. The January console versions have their own online co-op listings.
For a session today, organise it through the same platform friends system used by the host. The developer has discussed additional multiplayer features for full release, but existing PC co-op works through the supported live client.
What happens if the host leaves?
In the original developer multiplayer instructions, the game session closed when the host left or the host game crashed. Keep that host-based arrangement in mind when organising a long co-op session, and save your progression according to the game’s normal prompts.
During Early Access, the developers have continued fixing multiplayer-specific problems. The October 29 patch corrected certain crafting choices that were not working correctly for multiplayer clients, so updating before playing with friends also improves those systems.
Do you need a subscription to play Titan Quest II multiplayer?
On PC, multiplayer uses the Steam or Epic Games account through which you’re playing. On Xbox Series X|S, the store states console online multiplayer requires an eligible Game Pass subscription. The PlayStation Store lists PlayStation Plus as required for online play.
Those console requirements apply to the January 2027 release. For PC right now, the important steps are owning the Early Access game, updating to the current build and using the supported platform friends interface.
What to do if Titan Quest II multiplayer is not working
Start by updating the game for everyone in the group. Have the host launch a fresh session, then invite friends through the platform overlay. If the join option isn’t appearing, check online status, platform friendships and whether the host has already closed the session.
The October patch guide covers the multiplayer crafting fix, while our Masteries guide can help groups create different roles before starting their adventure.
