The OSRS Zorya’s Tome is not a conventional elemental tome that you hold alongside another main-hand staff. It occupies both hands and supplies its own powered spell. That matters when assessing your existing setup: you are swapping away from a main-hand and off-hand combination, not simply adding a small off-hand damage bonus.
How to get OSRS Zorya’s Tome from the Fractured Archive
The OSRS Zorya’s Tome is a potential reward from the chest at the end of a completed Fractured Archive raid. You must complete While Guthix Sleeps before entering, defeat the Archive Guardian, choose one encounter from each of three pairs, and then beat Ocellus. It is also a tradeable piece of equipment, so you can seek one on the Grand Exchange or from another player instead of relying on a drop. The game is only two days beyond release, and Jagex has not supplied a complete unique-chance table. A specific middle boss branch is not a confirmed method of increasing the Tome’s chance; Jagex awards equivalent maximum contribution points to either encounter in a pair.
How the OSRS Zorya’s Tome Special Attack works
Start by equipping the charged weapon and activating its Special Attack. The initial spell is rolled with 150% increased accuracy and 60% increased damage compared with a regular Tome attack. The crucial condition is that the first strike needs to hit successfully. If it does, you gain a buff affecting your next three attacks with the same weapon.
Those three empowered attacks also receive 150% increased accuracy and 60% increased damage, and their attack interval changes from three ticks to two. In other words, the OSRS Zorya’s Tome aims to deliver a short sequence of stronger, faster Magic hits, not one gigantic damage number that happens instantly. A miss on the first special prevents you from getting that same value out of the sequence.
The attack count is important when choosing when to use it. An enemy already close to death may die after the opening hit, leaving fewer follow-up attacks to benefit from the buff. Conversely, an enemy with enough health to survive four attacks lets you use the entire burst. Because the effect buffs your following attacks, you can also move to another enemy for those hits instead of being forced to keep striking the original target.
When to switch to the Tome during a fight
The OSRS Zorya’s Tome is particularly appealing where you need Magic Special Attack damage and the enemy’s defences make an ordinary inaccurate spell awkward. The accuracy increase applies to the initial strike and empowered follow-ups, but it is not a promise that every hit will connect. Always compare the enemy’s remaining health with the likely length of the burst window.
One possible use is arriving at a dangerous final part of a boss fight with enough Special Attack energy to deal several quick hits, then returning to your usual staff once the buff has been spent. Another is using the Tome across successive smaller enemies, since its bonus is attached to your attacks rather than a single monster. These are tactical situations, not verified best-in-slot lists for every boss.
Jagex positioned the weapon as an alternative to other damage-focused special weapons in encounters where different accuracy and health conditions apply. The best long-term comparisons against Dragon Claws, Volatile Nightmare Staff, or Ranged special weapons still need the community to test more current-content encounters.
OSRS Zorya’s Tome regular attacks and two-handed limitations
Without the Special Attack buff, the OSRS Zorya’s Tome has a three-tick attack speed and a base maximum hit of 18, lower than the Eye of Ayak’s base damage. That difference explains why a player might carry the Tome as a swap without using it for all ordinary combat. Its strongest identity is the Special Attack burst.
The weapon is two-handed, so it is incompatible with the special Magic accuracy benefit of Confliction Gauntlets described in current game reference material. If your calculation assumes an off-hand weapon or that particular gauntlet bonus, adjust your equipment comparison first. The displayed +45 Magic attack bonus and 15% Magic damage bonus are useful, but the full setup determines the real result.
Charging and preparing the Tome
The inventory item has a Charge option, and the OSRS Zorya’s Tome is used as a powered staff rather than by manually choosing standard spellbook spells each time. The charging cost is not confirmed in the sources used for this guide. Check the weapon’s in-game Charge option before purchasing runes or supplies for it. It would be misleading to list a guessed rune amount or coin cost as a settled recipe.

Is OSRS Zorya’s Tome worth getting?
For the OSRS Zorya’s Tome, start the Special Attack while the enemy has enough health for the full four-hit sequence. If your first attack lands, use the three faster empowered attacks before switching weapons; you can redirect them to another target if the original enemy dies. The regular three-tick spell alone isn’t the reason to bring the Tome as a swap.
Its burst window is established; comparisons against every other Magic special weapon are not. You need 85 Magic, a charged Tome and an opportunity to use several empowered attacks. Neither exact chest odds nor a stable comparison against every high-end Magic setup has yet been established.
