GTA Online Short Trips are three two-player missions starring Franklin and Lamar. Start them from Online → Jobs → Play Job → Rockstar Created → Missions, where you can select Seed Capital, Fire It Up or OG Kush without owning an Agency.
The October 22–28 Halloween promotion offers a separate GTA$500,000 for completing all three missions, with the stated payment window of 72 hours. Completing only one mission does not qualify. The Jobs menu is the shortest route. Record A Studios remains an alternative if your character has already opened its Smoking Room.
Short Trips mission walkthroughs and recommended order
Play Seed Capital first, defending Lamar’s LD Organics warehouse and his stolen Mule. Fire It Up follows with attacks on Vagos grow houses and a Technical escape. Finish with OG Kush, which involves Lamar’s investors and the promotional van. The Jobs menu permits individual replay, so you can choose whichever mission you still need for the current three-mission bonus.
How to start GTA Online Short Trips
Pause the game and choose Online → Jobs → Play Job → Rockstar Created → Missions. Find Short Trip – Seed Capital, Short Trip – Fire It Up or Short Trip – OG Kush. Select the job you want, then invite or match with another player.
All GTA Online Short Trips need two players. You’ll take the roles of Franklin and Lamar, not your own character. Invite a friend or use matchmaking; Quick Job on your in-game phone is another way to join an available mission.
Rockstar opened the missions to everyone through the Jobs menu in February 2022. The original Dr. Dre storyline is no longer a prerequisite for using this route. You can also pick the three missions separately instead of completing them in order.
GTA Online Short Trips: all three missions
Seed Capital starts Lamar’s LD Organics plans with a delivery that turns into a fight against the Vagos. This is the opening chapter of the three-part storyline.
Fire It Up takes Franklin and Lamar to Sandy Shores, where they retaliate against the Vagos by attacking their growing operation.
OG Kush introduces celebrity client Jimmy Boston and sends Lamar’s business ambitions in another unexpected direction. It is the third Short Trip.
For the October bonus, you need to finish all three different GTA Online Short Trips. Check the completed mission titles: Seed Capital, Fire It Up and OG Kush must each register once during the promotion.
Do you need an Agency for GTA Online Short Trips?
No. An Agency is not required to launch GTA Online Short Trips from Rockstar Created Missions. Owning one doesn’t improve your eligibility for the October GTA$500,000 bonus.
The original storyline unlocks access to Record A Studios after progress through Dr. Dre’s VIP Contract. That’s why some older guides tell you to buy an Agency. For direct mission access, use the Jobs menu instead.
GTA Online Short Trips at Record A Studios
If your character has unlocked Record A Studios, visit the Smoking Room at the back of the building. You can start the Franklin-and-Lamar storyline there, and return to replay missions. After the first visit, look for the mission marker by the Smoking Room and use Lamar’s special product to continue.
The studio entrance has its own story requirements, so it may not be available on a newer character. That doesn’t block GTA Online Short Trips: use Rockstar Created Missions to choose any of the three jobs directly.
GTA Online Short Trips GTA$500,000 bonus
The October 22–28, 2026 event listing offers an extra GTA$500,000 for completing Seed Capital, Fire It Up and OG Kush. All three different missions must count towards the offer. It is separate from the usual cash and RP earned on each job.
The October 22 event listing says the bonus arrives within 72 hours of completing the requirement. Finish all three within the promotional window, by the October 28 deadline. The extra money may arrive well after you’ve finished the final mission.
This week’s GTA Online Short Trips reward is listed in the October 22 rotation. Rockstar’s earlier Short Trips announcement confirms the permanent access instructions, while current weekly event reporting provides the GTA$500,000 amount and deadline.
GTA Online Short Trips missing or reward delayed?
Can’t see a mission? Open Rockstar Created → Missions and scroll through the list rather than waiting for a Record A Studios map marker. If the lobby won’t launch, check that a second player has joined. GTA Online Short Trips cannot be played solo.
If you’ve completed Seed Capital, Fire It Up and OG Kush during the promotion, allow the full 72 hours for the extra deposit. Check your Maze Bank balance rather than expecting the GTA$500,000 on the OG Kush results screen. If only one mission is recorded, complete the other two before the deadline.
Other Halloween Week 4 rewards
The Short Trips cash is separate from the October 22–28 Weekly Challenge: complete every wave of a Survival for GTA$150,000 and the Gray Space Interloper Outfit. Logging in during the same week also grants the free White & Red Tech Demon Mask.
