Moadra release date is October 22, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Windows PC. Developer Gloomsoft confirmed the date on October 1, bringing its science-fiction Metroidvania to all four platforms after several years in development.
You play as a Neera warrior exploring Protea VI, a devastated alien planet hiding the history of a civilisation that vanished around 20,000 years ago. Expect demanding combat, connected environments, movement upgrades and a mutation system driven by resources harvested from creatures.
Moadra release date: All four platforms
Gloomsoft lists Thursday, October 22 for the full game on Steam, with Xbox Wire confirming the same date. PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch were part of the launch announcement rather than later ports. The developer hasn’t confirmed one universal launch hour across the storefronts.
| Platform | Release |
|---|---|
| PC, Steam | October 22, 2026 |
| Xbox Series X|S | October 22, 2026 |
| PlayStation 5 | October 22, 2026 |
| Nintendo Switch | October 22, 2026 |
The Moadra release date is distinct from the already available Steam demo. That free download lets you try part of the adventure before the full release, without buying it. Demo availability doesn’t make the completed game free.

Exploring Protea VI in Moadra
The game world includes a desolate sand-swept surface, freezing mountains and a research facility full of hostile organisms. You’ll revisit connected areas as new movement and combat abilities open routes that were previously inaccessible. Hidden paths, puzzles and enemy encounters make exploration central to the experience.
Gloomsoft describes Moadra as a single-player adventure. Its Moadra release date announcement doesn’t describe cooperative play or PvP, so don’t expect to explore Protea VI with an online party.
What abilities can Moadra unlock?
Rolling, dodging, wall jumping, leaping and rapid sprinting form part of Moadra’s agility. You also have an arsenal of weapons and special powers for fighting creatures, from smaller enemies to massive bosses. The scanner bot and X-ray vision can reveal hidden objects and routes.
Specific upgrade costs and locations aren’t detailed in Gloomsoft’s launch descriptions. That means the Moadra release date is confirmed, but a complete map of where to acquire each new move isn’t yet established through the released game. The developer has confirmed the underlying progression system, however.
How does Protoplasm work?
Defeated creatures release Protoplasm, a form of biomass that you can consume at organic chambers. The resulting metamorphosis improves Moadra’s abilities and weapons. That makes fighting and collecting resources part of character progression, rather than combat existing only to block your route.
Exploration tools work alongside those improvements: the scanner and X-ray vision can help reveal areas that aren’t visible at first glance. The Moadra release date brings the full version of this system on October 22, while exact chamber locations still depend on the explorable map.

Steam demo and PC system requirements
The Windows demo is accessible on Steam. Minimum requirements list Windows 10 or 11, a quad-core processor, 4 GB RAM, a GeForce GTX 900-series card or comparable hardware, DirectX 12 and 9 GB of storage. The recommended specification raises RAM to 8 GB and gives a GeForce GTX 970 4 GB as an example GPU.
The Moadra release date for Xbox also comes with Xbox Play Anywhere and cloud-save capabilities for eligible digital purchases on compatible Xbox and Windows devices. Those are different from Game Pass inclusion, which the store hasn’t announced.
Is Moadra coming to Xbox Game Pass?
Xbox Play Anywhere is confirmed, but it doesn’t automatically mean a game joins Game Pass. Microsoft lists the title for Xbox Series X|S and compatible PC or handheld setups, with support for single-player gameplay. Look for the actual subscription entitlement on the store before assuming you can download the full release through Game Pass.
The Moadra release date on Thursday is the next concrete milestone. Until then, you can download the Steam demo to get a feel for the combat and movement without relying on an unfinished upgrade walkthrough.
