Yandere Simulator release date has not been announced for the completed game as of October 18, 2026. Windows players can download and play Yandere Simulator today, but its main 202X story contains two of ten planned rivals: Osana Najimi and Amai Odayaka. Kizana Sunobu is next, and her playable week has no confirmed date either.
Part of the confusion comes from a 2024 title-screen change, while another part comes from 1980s Mode already offering a ten-rival story. Neither means the main campaign has finished. The developer is also considering a paid Early Access launch and has expressed an intention to release on Steam, but neither step currently has an official launch day.
Is there a Yandere Simulator release date for the full game?
No. The Yandere Simulator release date for the complete 202X campaign remains unannounced. YandereDev continues releasing playable builds, with a major Schemes overhaul on October 1 and Amai student-placement changes on October 15. An October 17 bug-fixing build followed. None was described as the game’s full release.
If you see a 2026 or 2027 launch estimate in an old article or video, treat it as an estimate rather than a promise. The Yandere Simulator release date depends on the unfinished rival weeks and the resources available for character events, voice acting, animations and testing. No currently published developer schedule gives a finished-game day or month.
Why was the Demo label removed in 2024?

The word “DEMO” was removed from the title screen on May 1, 2024, when Amai arrived as the second playable main-story rival. The developer also removed the end-of-content “Thanks for Playing” sequence. Those were changes to how the available build was presented, not a formal launch of the complete game.
The Yandere Simulator release date wasn’t brought forward by those changes. Amai’s week itself has continued receiving new dialogue, interactions and balancing, including several adjustments in October 2026. A more finished-looking title screen should not be mistaken for confirmation that every planned rival is already playable.
202X Mode versus 1980s Mode: Which is complete?
202X Mode follows Ayano Aishi and is designed around ten rival weeks. Only Osana and Amai have been implemented as full playable rivals. Kizana is meant to be the third, followed by seven more characters. The Yandere Simulator release date for that story cannot be inferred from how much content another mode contains.
1980s Mode stars Ryoba Aishi and has its own ten-rival narrative. You can play that story from beginning to end, but it doesn’t conclude Ayano’s campaign. Think of the modes as two different stories using related systems, not one finished story with interchangeable casts.
What needs to happen before Kizana?

The developer’s October 1 post links a Pre-Kizana Checklist and describes the next priorities as improvements to Amai’s week, some Custom Mode work and a return to development videos on YouTube before Kizana gets the main focus. The October 17 build announced another review of how students move around Amai to prevent easy unwitnessed eliminations.
Kizana has appeared in earlier material, including a voiced introduction in June 2026, but the actress had not been formally confirmed as her permanent voice at that time. The Yandere Simulator release date also won’t be decided by whether Kizana receives full animations immediately, because the developer has floated the option of beta rival weeks with unfinished presentation.
Will Yandere Simulator become paid Early Access?
The developer’s FAQ describes a proposed $5 Early Access price, rising to $20 after all ten rivals are finished. Under that proposal, early purchasers would not pay again for the full game. A separate free demo would remain available but would no longer receive fixes once the paid edition takes over. Those prices are plans, not current charges.
Steam is the preferred storefront for that future paid phase, although the developer has not provided a confirmed store-launch date. There’s also no formal statement that Kizana’s release would automatically make the game paid. Our pricing guide explains how the proposal would affect free players.
What is the next Yandere Simulator release date milestone?
The next major story milestone is Kizana, not the finished-game launch. The developer has discussed a possible beta-rival system in which rival weeks become playable before their voices and unique animations are complete. It is a conditional idea rather than a committed three-rivals-per-year timetable.
Our Kizana guide covers that next rival, while the development roadmap explains the remaining work. The Yandere Simulator release date for the completed game is still open, even with regular new builds arriving.
