Yandere Simulator Development Roadmap 2026: What’s Left Before Kizana and Full Release?

Yandere Simulator release date

Yandere Simulator development roadmap still includes improvements to Amai’s week, Custom Mode changes, the developer’s planned return to YouTube and eventually the third main-story rival, Kizana. The October 2026 builds have delivered a major Schemes overhaul and witness-placement changes, but the finished 202X story remains a long-term goal without a release date.

Osana and Amai are the two implemented rivals in Ayano’s ten-week 202X story, leaving eight more. The separate 1980s Mode has its own complete ten-rival campaign, which is why having one finished mode doesn’t mean Ayano’s story is finished. The next important question is what the developer wants to complete before beginning Kizana.

What is complete on the Yandere Simulator development roadmap?

The October 1 update delivered three significant changes: the Schemes code was restructured, Schemes became available during Amai’s week and the corkboard planning cutscene was redesigned. The new system lets players select appropriate elimination guidance depending on the current week, rather than seeing instructions written only around Osana.

Amai became playable in May 2024, with new voice work, event changes and animations arriving afterwards. The October 15 update moved more students into positions where they could witness attacks against Amai. That was a gameplay change rather than a promise about future content.

Why is Amai still on the development checklist?

The latest Yandere Simulator development roadmap change comes from the October 17 bug-fixing build. After criticism of the October 15 placements, YandereDev announced another redesign: students would form more natural pairs and groups, while daily routes would depend on where Amai was going. The intention is to make her more challenging without leaving isolated students standing around as obvious guards.

The developer also fixed issues with the Sewing Room’s listening-device prompt, school-uniform delivery, high-resolution SNAP Mode depth of field and some character routines. Amai’s bake-sale sabotage now damages her reputation by 10 points when tallied at day’s end, up to four times in one week. These are confirmed changes from the October 17 build.

What comes before Kizana?

The Yandere Simulator development roadmap described on October 1 puts Amai’s student positioning first, followed by a look at quality-of-life improvements for Custom Mode. The developer then wants to make YouTube videos showcasing the many updates added since 1980s Mode. Once those are done, Kizana should become the next major rival project.

The October 17 post cautioned that revisiting student routines could delay the planned video return. That is not a cancelled Kizana chapter, but it does mean a firm timetable can’t be inferred from an earlier sequence of tasks. The official Pre-Kizana Checklist is the named tracker for the work, though an independently verified checked-card count isn’t currently available.

Voice actors, animations and potential crowdfunding

Custom animation and dialogue are substantial parts of the Yandere Simulator development roadmap. In January, the developer explained that animations for Amai’s events had been taking considerable time and that hiring more animators wasn’t affordable with the resources available. He raised crowdfunding as a possibility if public perception improved, not as an announced fundraising campaign.

The developer also proposed releasing playable beta rival weeks without final voice acting or bespoke animations, gathering feedback and polishing them later. Under that conditional approach, Kizana and subsequent rivals could reach players before every presentation asset is finished. The beta rivals guide explains the difference between that content plan and paid Early Access.

How many rivals remain before release?

The Yandere Simulator development roadmap still needs eight main-story rival weeks, starting with Kizana. Each will need schedules, rival events, possible eliminations and testing. Whether they ship with full production values immediately depends on which development plan is adopted and what help is available. A beta week wouldn’t automatically mean its finished version was ready.

Players waiting on dates should consult the Kizana release guide and full-game release overview. Neither has a confirmed launch month as of October 18, 2026, and the developer’s older goals aren’t binding deadlines.

The Yandere Simulator development roadmap after October 2026

The immediate focus remains Amai refinements and associated fixes, followed by the videos and Kizana planning. The Yandere Simulator development roadmap will only become a full release schedule once the developer announces specific milestones and dates.
