EA FC 27 Future Stars Academy Evolutions turn one young ST or CAM into an 85-rated Future Stars item across four separate stages. Academy I went live on October 9, with Academy II on October 11, Academy III on October 13 and the final Academy IV step on October 16.
This is one Evolution chain where clicking the obvious option can come back to bite you later. Every stage changes the shape of the card, and the choices stack. A player you build for raw pace in Academy I can end up very different from the same base card developed around dribbling, passing or finishing.

EA has split the EA FC 27 Future Stars Academy Evolutions over one week rather than releasing the entire chain at once. The official promo graphic shows the Academy item progressing from 81 OVR to 85 OVR between October 9 and October 16.
| Evolution | Release | OVR after stage |
|---|---|---|
| Future Stars Academy I | October 9 | 81 |
| Future Stars Academy II | October 11 | 82 |
| Future Stars Academy III | October 13 | 83 |
| Future Stars Academy IV | October 16 | 85 |
You need to keep the same Academy project moving through the chain. Academy I is non-repeatable, so there is no second test card waiting if the first route does not suit your squad.
Future Stars Academy I requirements
The first of the EA FC 27 Future Stars Academy Evolutions accepts an ST or CAM rated 80 or lower, born on or after October 9, 2003. The card can have no more than 86 Pace and seven PlayStyles.
| Academy I rule | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Overall | Max 80 |
| Position | ST or CAM |
| Born | October 9, 2003 or later |
| Pace | Max 86 |
| PlayStyles | Max 7 |
| Cost | Free |
| Repeatable | No |
Academy I takes five matches and one win to finish. The live Evolution allows progress through Squad Battles on at least Semi-Pro, Rush, Rivals, Champions and Live Events.
Academy I path choice: Pace, Shooting or Dribbling
The first path choice sets the direction for your card. All three options bring the player to 81 OVR, but the final upgrade package is different.
- Pace path: boosts acceleration, sprint speed, positioning and finishing, and adds a Weak Foot upgrade.
- Shooting path: focuses on finishing, shot power, long shots, volleys and composure, with a Weak Foot upgrade.
- Dribbling path: pushes agility, balance, ball control and dribbling, and adds a Skill Moves upgrade.
For the EA FC 27 Future Stars Academy Evolutions, the right answer is usually the route that fixes the weakest important part of the base card. A rapid striker with poor finishing gains less from another pace boost than a slower CAM who needs that burst to become usable.
EA FC 27 Future Stars Academy Evolutions: Academy II choices
Academy II arrives on October 11 and raises the project to 82 OVR. The shared upgrade improves attacking and dribbling stats, then the path choice shifts away from pure pace versus shooting.
- Playmaker: prioritises vision, crossing, short passing, long passing and curve.
- Powerhouse: adds heading accuracy, jumping, stamina, strength and aggression.
- All-Rounder: mixes passing improvements with jumping, stamina and strength.
This is where the Academy player can stop looking like a generic attacking Evolution. A CAM built through Playmaker can become a creator, while a striker pushed through Powerhouse gets a very different physical profile.

Academy III is scheduled for October 13. Each path raises the card to 83 OVR and adds a PlayStyle, up to a cap of three PlayStyles on the item.
- Pace route: Rapid PlayStyle with matching speed boosts.
- Shooting route: Power Shot PlayStyle with shooting improvements.
- Dribbling route: Technical PlayStyle with dribbling-focused boosts.
The third stage is where the EA FC 27 Future Stars Academy Evolutions start to affect how the card feels rather than only how the face stats look. Pick the PlayStyle you will actually trigger in matches, not the one with the nicest name on the menu.
EA FC 27 Future Stars Academy Evolutions: Academy IV to 85 OVR
The final Academy IV stage arrives on October 16 and gives the shared +2 jump to 85 OVR. FUT.GG’s current path data shows the final decision splitting between a shooting route and a passing/stat round-out route.
The Shooting route adds Low Driven Shot up to a four-PlayStyle cap alongside finishing and shot-power boosts. The alternative focuses on vision, short passing, long passing, reactions, ball control and composure.
That final choice should reflect the player you have built over the previous three steps. If your striker already has enough creation and dribbling, the shooting finish may make more sense. A CAM who has become quick and technically strong may get more from the passing route.
Can you mix paths between Academy stages?
Yes. The point of the EA FC 27 Future Stars Academy Evolutions is the branching chain. You are not locked into “Pace” forever because you chose pace in Academy I.
That opens up some much better builds than blindly following one theme. You can fix a slow base card in the first stage, add passing in Academy II, choose Technical in Academy III and finish with shooting in Academy IV if that combination suits the player.
Should you wait before choosing an Academy path?
If you are unsure, waiting until the next stage is visible can help. The Academy runs on fixed release dates, and the card is meant to survive all four upgrades rather than peak after the first five matches.
Look at the player as an 85-rated project. Roles, PlayStyles, weak foot and skill moves can matter more than squeezing a couple of extra points into an attribute that was already good enough.
EA FC 27 Future Stars Academy Evolutions quick route
EA FC 27 Future Stars Academy Evolutions start with one eligible 80 OVR or lower ST/CAM and finish at 85 OVR. Academy I releases October 9, Academy II October 11, Academy III October 13 and Academy IV October 16.
The strongest build is the one that fixes your chosen player’s actual weaknesses instead of chasing one path name through all four stages. Check the full card before each decision, then use the next Academy release to add what is still missing.
