RuneScape 4 Platforms have not been announced. Jagex specifically includes platforms among the big questions it is not ready to answer after revealing its new Unreal Engine RuneScape MMORPG at RuneFest 2026.
That means PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and mobile should all be treated as unconfirmed RuneScape 4 Platforms today. Some are plausible based on Jagex’s other games, but precedent is not the same as an official platform list.
Are RuneScape 4 Platforms confirmed?

No. The official reveal asks “Which platforms?” and immediately explains that it is too early to answer questions like platforms, accounts, membership, progression, combat and skills. Jagex intends to share more as development progresses.
Any site currently displaying a fixed list of RuneScape 4 Platforms without that caveat is going beyond the announcement. There is not yet a PlayStation Store, Xbox Store or final PC storefront page for RS4.
Is RuneScape 4 coming to PC?
PC is an obvious possibility because RuneScape, Old School RuneScape and Dragonwilds all have strong PC audiences, and the new game is being developed in Unreal Engine. Jagex still has not formally confirmed PC as a launch platform for RS4.
Is RuneScape 4 coming to PS5 and Xbox?
PS5 and Xbox Series X|S are also unconfirmed. The franchise now has stronger console precedent because RuneScape: Dragonwilds launched across PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, but RS4 is a separate MMORPG with its own technical and business decisions.
The Dragonwilds console release makes these RuneScape 4 Platforms worth watching. It does not guarantee controller design, console certification or simultaneous console launch for the new MMO.
What about Nintendo Switch 2?
RuneScape: Dragonwilds also expanded to Nintendo Switch 2, proving Jagex is willing to bring newer RuneScape experiences to Nintendo hardware. RS4 has not been announced for Switch 2.
Because the new MMO is still a few years away, hardware expectations may also change before RuneScape 4 Platforms are locked. It is too early to infer minimum specifications from today’s consoles.
Will RuneScape 4 be on mobile?
There is no mobile confirmation. RuneScape and Old School RuneScape have successful mobile versions, so phone and tablet support is a reasonable player question, but the Unreal Engine project may have different interface, performance and content requirements.
Could RuneScape 4 support crossplay?
Crossplay has not been announced either. If the final game launches on several platforms, cross-platform play would be an obvious MMO feature to ask about, but Jagex has not detailed accounts or progression architecture yet.
Those underlying systems need to be known before making claims about RuneScape 4 Platforms sharing servers, characters or memberships. Crossplay and cross-progression are separate features and should not be assumed together.
When will Jagex announce RuneScape 4 Platforms?
Jagex promises much more information in 2027, including ways for players to get involved in development. It has not promised that the full platform list will be part of the very next update, but 2027 is the first confirmed window for deeper details.
As development continues, the new RuneScape MMO should be checked against Jagex’s latest reveal rather than assumptions based on the current games. Accounts, systems and launch details remain early enough to change before players can access the new MMO.
