Warframe Riven Cipher skips the unveiling challenge on a Veiled Riven Mod. As of Update 42, Palladino sells one Cipher per week for Riven Slivers at Iron Wake on Earth, giving you a way to bypass challenges you’d rather not complete.
A Riven Cipher doesn’t let you choose a weapon or reroll the stats on a mod. It simply reveals a Veiled Riven immediately. Here’s how to unlock Palladino, buy the item, use it in your Mods screen and tell it apart from a Riven Transmuter.
Warframe Riven Cipher: Where to get one in 2026
Digital Extremes added Riven Ciphers to Palladino’s shop in Update 42: The Shadowgrapher on March 26, 2026. Her shop takes Riven Slivers and has a weekly limit of one Cipher. The official notes do not list the exact Sliver price, so check the in-game amount rather than following an older price guide.
Teshin’s Steel Path Honors is another source: his evergreen stock sells a Veiled Riven Cipher for 20 Steel Essence, limited to one per week. Palladino’s Riven Sliver shop has a separate weekly limit. The October 31 Twitch Drop pool also includes a Cipher.
Warframe Riven Cipher: How to buy from Palladino
Step 1. Complete The Chains of Harrow, which unlocks the relevant Iron Wake progression. Open Earth on the Star Chart and travel to Iron Wake.
Step 2. Find Palladino and open her wares. Select the Riven Cipher from the offers purchased with Riven Slivers. If you’ve already bought this week’s item, wait for the weekly shop reset.
Step 3. Spend the Riven Slivers shown in Palladino’s shop. Her Warframe Riven Cipher has a weekly limit of one, so you cannot buy several at once to clear a stack of Veiled Rivens.

Warframe Riven Cipher: How to use it
Open the Mods station in your Orbiter. Select a Veiled Riven Mod, meaning one that still shows a challenge rather than a final weapon and stats. Choose its Cipher action and confirm the use.
The Cipher is consumed, and the Riven reveals its assigned weapon and attributes without requiring you to complete the challenge. You still receive a random result. A Warframe Riven Cipher doesn’t guarantee good stats or unveil a specific weapon you choose.
If the Cipher option isn’t available, make sure the selected Mod is still veiled. An already unveiled Riven doesn’t have an unveiling challenge left to bypass.
What’s different about Riven Ciphers and Riven Transmuters?
A Riven Cipher removes a single unveiling challenge. A Riven Transmuter consumes four Riven Mods to create another Veiled Riven. They’re not interchangeable, even though Palladino sells both.

Warframe Riven Cipher: Where to farm Riven Slivers
Farm level 30 or higher Eximus enemies for a chance at Riven Slivers. Steel Path missions provide plenty of high-level enemies and other rewards, although a Sliver is not guaranteed from every Eximus. Trade the Slivers with Palladino to buy the Cipher.
If you’ve used Palladino’s weekly purchase, check Teshin’s separate 20 Steel Essence offer if you haven’t bought his weekly Cipher. You can use either vendor without expecting Palladino’s limit to reset early.
Is the October 31 Riven Cipher Twitch Drop guaranteed?
No. A Riven Cipher is one of ten possible rewards during Digital Extremes’ October 31 Portau tournament stream. Watch the official Warframe channel from 4 PM GMT for 30 minutes and claim the finished Drop in Twitch.
Your one reward might instead be an Adapter, Forma or 100 Vosfor. The October 31 Twitch Drops guide lists all ten rewards and the claim steps.
Why isn’t my Warframe Riven Cipher working?
If Palladino won’t sell you one, check her weekly limit, your Riven Sliver balance and Chains of Harrow completion. If you own the Cipher but can’t use it, select a Veiled Riven at the Mods station rather than an already revealed mod or a Riven Transmuter.
Spend your Warframe Riven Cipher on a Veiled Riven with an unveiling challenge you want to skip. Each Cipher is consumed immediately, so select the correct Mod before confirming.
