ESO Wolfhunter Free: How to Access Both Dungeons

ESO Wolfhunter Free was scheduled to join The Elder Scrolls Online’s base game on October 19, 2026. The update covers the original four-player Moon Hunter Keep and March of Sacrifices dungeons, without a separate Wolfhunter purchase or ESO Plus subscription once the update is active on your platform. An earlier seasonal roadmap had pointed to October 12, but ZeniMax’s newer October Survival Guide identifies October 19 for the base-game inclusion.

Solo versions of both dungeons arrive on October 21, separately from the October 19 group-dungeon inclusion. You can then choose the original four-player encounters or the new solo experience. Here’s where to find both and what changes on each date.

ESO Wolfhunter Free release date and access schedule

According to ZeniMax’s October 2026 Survival Guide, ESO Wolfhunter Free base-game inclusion was set for Monday, October 19, 2026. The older October 12 roadmap date should not be treated as a confirmed separate early-access launch. ZeniMax’s newer announcement doesn’t establish a distinct October 12 access stage.

How to access ESO Wolfhunter Free dungeons

After the October 19 update reaches your platform, the original ESO Wolfhunter Free dungeons can be entered through their world entrances or the group dungeon systems. Moon Hunter Keep is located in Reaper’s March, while March of Sacrifices is located in Greenshade. If you prefer a premade group, travel to the appropriate entrance with your party; otherwise, look for the applicable dungeon in the Activity Finder when it is available to your character.

These are existing four-player PvE dungeons, so they still have their familiar bosses, encounters and dungeon-specific rewards. Removing the old DLC ownership restriction does not remove the normal character-level or group requirements that apply in the game.

ESO Wolfhunter Free: October 12 or October 19?

The announced ESO Wolfhunter Free inclusion date is October 19. An earlier roadmap promised the group dungeons for October 12, which is why you might still see that date elsewhere. The newer October Survival Guide names October 19 for Wolfhunter and Greymoor, with no separate early dungeon-access announcement for October 12.

If Moon Hunter Keep or March of Sacrifices still asks you to own Wolfhunter or subscribe to ESO Plus on October 12, that’s consistent with the revised schedule. The free base-game unlock was announced for October 19. Players whose dungeon access still appears locked should install any outstanding updates and check the official maintenance notice.

What changes when Solo Dungeons launch October 21?

The October 21 Solo Dungeon update adds a different way to experience these stories. Instead of forming the original four-player group, you can tackle the new solo-oriented versions alone or with an NPC companion. Optional difficulty adjustments offer additional challenge for players who want more than the introductory experience.

The Solo Dungeons open on October 21. The original group versions remain available, with their own achievements and rewards. If you’re after a solo story run, wait for the new mode rather than queuing for the four-player version.

ESO Wolfhunter Free access: do you need ESO Plus?

The October 19 announcement places both original Wolfhunter dungeons in the base-game offer. That is the reason players who never purchased Wolfhunter should gain access. ESO Plus remains an optional subscription with its own benefits, but it won’t be the prerequisite for these two base-game dungeons once the change takes effect.

Before the scheduled change, existing DLC ownership and subscription permissions continue to govern access. If you are checking on October 19 and a dungeon still shows as locked, confirm that the relevant game update has rolled out to your platform and check the current server announcements before assuming that the original release date changed again.

Greymoor and Markarth: what are the new free-access dates?

Greymoor becomes part of the ESO base game on October 19 too. That opens Western Skyrim, the Antiquities system and the Kyne’s Aegis trial to everyone. For travel and quest instructions, see our Greymoor free-access guide.

The ESO Wolfhunter Free rollout doesn’t establish a new date for Markarth. The earlier roadmap paired Greymoor and Markarth for November 9, but the newer October Survival Guide moves Greymoor forward without mentioning Markarth. November 9 hasn’t been reconfirmed for that DLC, and October 19 has only been announced for Wolfhunter and Greymoor. If you’re planning a trip to the Reach, check your Markarth access until ZeniMax clarifies the timetable.

Our Season Two schedule covers the rest of the October changes, including the solo dungeon launch on October 21.
