ESO Season 2 Echoes of Skyrim launches on October 21, 2026, bringing solo versions of Moon Hunter Keep and March of Sacrifices, a new Tamriel Tome and adventures in Eastern Skyrim. The season runs until January 27, 2027, with additional events and rewards arriving throughout its three-month run.
Players can also look forward to more previously paid content becoming free. Greymoor and Wolfhunter join the base game on October 19, opening Western Skyrim, the Antiquities system, Kyne’s Aegis and both Wolfhunter dungeons to everyone. These changes arrive two days before the new Solo Dungeons become available.

ESO Season 2 Echoes of Skyrim begins on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, and ends on January 27, 2027. ZeniMax confirmed both dates in its October 2026 Survival Guide, alongside the free DLC changes and returning Witches Festival.
The main confirmed dates are:
| Date | Content |
|---|---|
| October 19, 2026 | Greymoor and Wolfhunter become free base-game content |
| October 21, 2026 | Season Two launches |
| October 21, 2026 | Moon Hunter Keep and March of Sacrifices Solo Dungeons open |
| October 21 to November 4, 2026 | Witches Festival |
| January 27, 2027 | Season Two ends |
Update 51 launched on September 28, introducing systems and improvements that support the following season. However, the Solo Dungeons are scheduled to become playable with the October 21 seasonal launch.
Greymoor and Wolfhunter Become Free on October 19
One of the biggest changes connected to ESO Season 2 Echoes of Skyrim is the addition of two older DLC releases to the base game.
From October 19, every ESO player will receive access to Greymoor and Wolfhunter without needing to purchase those releases separately.
Greymoor includes Western Skyrim, areas of Blackreach, the Greymoor storyline, the Kyne’s Aegis trial and the Antiquities system. Antiquities allows players to uncover Leads, use Scrying and Excavation, and discover relics and collectibles throughout Tamriel.
Wolfhunter includes two four-player dungeons:
- Moon Hunter Keep
- March of Sacrifices
Both group dungeons become available to all base-game players on October 19, while their new Solo Dungeon versions arrive on October 21.
The October announcement replaces the earlier roadmap dates of October 12 for Wolfhunter and November 9 for Greymoor. Markarth was also announced for free access in the earlier November roadmap, but the newer October schedule does not confirm its revised date.

Moon Hunter Keep and March of Sacrifices Solo Dungeons
Solo Dungeons are the main new gameplay feature in ESO Season 2 Echoes of Skyrim. Rather than requiring a traditional four-player group, both Wolfhunter dungeons receive dedicated solo versions that allow players to follow their stories at their own pace.
You can enter these versions through the world map or their dungeon entrances, selecting the Solo Dungeon option. They support playing completely alone or bringing an NPC companion.
The original four-player versions remain available. Solo Dungeons provide an additional way to experience the content, with their own difficulty options and rewards.
How Meted Misfortunes Change the Difficulty
Solo Dungeons introduce optional modifiers called Meted Misfortunes. Players can choose between zero and three Misfortunes to increase the challenge.
| Misfortunes | Approximate difficulty |
|---|---|
| 0 | Comparable to overland content |
| 1 | Comparable to a normal solo arena |
| 2 | Comparable to a veteran solo arena |
| 3 | Harder than comparable existing solo experiences |
Zero Misfortunes is intended for players primarily interested in completing the dungeon story. Higher settings provide a more demanding solo experience and additional reward opportunities.
You can therefore experience the same dungeon at a more relaxed difficulty before returning to attempt its harder challenges.

ESO Season 2 Echoes of Skyrim Solo Dungeon Rewards
The Solo Dungeon system introduces new item sets, collectibles and a currency called Undaunted Crests.
Each dungeon has its own named reward collection.
| Reward | Moon Hunter Keep | March of Sacrifices |
|---|---|---|
| Completion trophy | Mylenne Moon-Caller Trophy | Tarcyr Trophy |
| Misfortune completion | Mylenne Moon-Caller Bust | Tarcyr Bust |
| Boss mask | Mylenne Moon-Caller Mask | Tarcyr Mask |
| Shoulder style | Mylenne Moon-Caller Shoulder | Tarcyr Shoulder |
The trophies are awarded for completing their respective Solo Dungeons, while the busts require completion with at least one Misfortune active.
Defeating Vykosa the Ascendant in Solo Moon Hunter Keep awards the Mylenne Moon-Caller Mask. The Tarcyr Mask comes from defeating Balorgh in Solo March of Sacrifices.
The corresponding Shoulder styles can be purchased from Veya Thenim using Undaunted Crests. Players earn this currency through Solo Dungeon activities and can spend it at Undaunted vendors in the enclaves outside Wayrest, Mournhold and Elden Root.
New Tarcyr and Moon-Caller equipment sets are also part of the Solo Dungeon rewards, giving players additional reasons to revisit both dungeons after their first completion.
Eastern Skyrim in Season Two
Exploration in Eastern Skyrim is another confirmed part of ESO Season 2 Echoes of Skyrim.
ZeniMax’s Season Two announcement specifically mentions Eastern Skyrim, but has not yet provided a complete description of its seasonal activities, quest starters or locations.
Eastern Skyrim should not be confused with Greymoor’s Western Skyrim content. Greymoor focuses on the region around Solitude and its connected Blackreach areas, while ESO already contains eastern Skyrim regions including Eastmarch and The Rift.
The October announcement does not establish whether Eastern Skyrim will receive a separate new zone or how its seasonal activities will begin. Those details remain unconfirmed ahead of the October 21 launch.
New Tamriel Tome and Season Two Improvements
A new Tamriel Tome arrives with ESO Season 2 Echoes of Skyrim, providing another collection of seasonal challenges and rewards.
ZeniMax has also announced changes to how Tomes work following player feedback. These include an increased Tome Point rollover cap, improved options for exchanging excess points and a broader selection of challenges.
The challenge changes are intended to accommodate more playstyles, reducing reliance on particular activities for seasonal progression.
Players who have unused Tome Points from the previous season will benefit from the revised rollover system, although the applicable limits still determine how many points can carry forward.
The full Season Two reward selection will become available with the new Tome on October 21.
Witches Festival and Other Season Two Events
The Witches Festival begins on October 21, the same day as ESO Season 2 Echoes of Skyrim, and continues until November 4.
During the event, players can earn additional rewards including Plunder Skulls and Trade Bars. It provides an immediate seasonal activity alongside the launch of the Solo Dungeons and Tamriel Tome.
ZeniMax’s roadmap also identifies Frost Atronach Crown Crate rewards for the Gold Coast Bazaar during Season Two. The New Life Festival is scheduled to return later in the season.
A separate Skyrim-themed Golden Pursuit was previously announced for November 9 through December 2. However, because the free-content schedule has since changed, those Pursuit dates should be treated as subject to confirmation rather than guaranteed.
What Has Been Delayed Beyond the Season Two Launch?
Although ESO Season 2 Echoes of Skyrim introduces several new activities, some previously discussed features are not included in the October 21 launch.
The Crimson Veldt trial and additional class and combat work were affected by the revised development roadmap. Update 52 is also separate from the Season Two launch.
These features should not be confused with the confirmed October content, particularly when planning which new activities will be available immediately.
For October 21, the confirmed additions are the Solo Dungeons, Eastern Skyrim seasonal content and a new Tamriel Tome, alongside the beginning of the Witches Festival.

What to Play First in ESO Season 2 Echoes of Skyrim
