Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration Futuristic Rare: Mewtwo ex and Mew ex Explained

Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration Futuristic Rare is one of the new rarity labels introduced for the anniversary expansion. Pokémon’s official set overview says there are two Futuristic Rare cards, both created by artist YOSHIROTTEN, and the featured Pokémon are Mewtwo ex and Mew ex.

The Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration Futuristic Rare pair sits alongside a set built around past, present and future themes. It should not be confused with Pikachu Rare, which is a 30-card rarity group with one Pikachu guaranteed in every regular booster pack, or the Classic Collection, which reprints 30 cards from older eras.

Which cards are Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration Futuristic Rare?

Card	Rarity	Artist
Mewtwo ex	Futuristic Rare	YOSHIROTTEN
Mew ex	Futuristic Rare	YOSHIROTTEN

How many Futuristic Rare cards are in the set?

Pokémon’s set page identifies exactly two dazzling Futuristic Rare cards. That makes the rarity a very small part of the wider anniversary checklist compared with the 30 Pikachu Rares, 30 Classic Collection cards and more than 20 Illustration Rare and Special Illustration Rare cards.

Is Futuristic Rare the same as a secret rare?

Futuristic Rare cards sit beyond the normal main-set numbering in collector checklists, but the most useful description is the official rarity name printed and promoted for the cards. When organising a binder, keep them with the cards above the set number rather than mixing them into the 30-card Pikachu Rare run.

Who is YOSHIROTTEN?

Pokémon credits YOSHIROTTEN as the artist behind the two Futuristic Rare cards. The same visual direction fits the expansion’s day-and-night celebration theme and gives Mewtwo ex and Mew ex a distinct identity from the historical Classic Collection artwork.

Futuristic Rare vs Pikachu Rare

Pikachu Rare is a 30-card subset-like rarity with one card guaranteed in each regular booster pack. Futuristic Rare is a two-card rarity for Mewtwo ex and Mew ex. Collectors therefore face very different completion goals even though both rarity names debuted with the same anniversary expansion.

Where to track the cards

Use the 30th Celebration Card List for the full set structure and the 30 Pikachu checklist for the guaranteed-pack rarity. The Classic Collection guide covers the historical reprints.

Pokémon’s official expansion page confirms two Futuristic Rare cards by YOSHIROTTEN. This guide keeps Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration Futuristic Rare focused on that verified two-card rarity rather than speculative pull-rate claims.

For players using this page as a quick reference, Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration Futuristic Rare keeps the confirmed requirements and deadlines together so older event or product details are less likely to cause confusion.

The most useful way to use Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration Futuristic Rare is to check the dated details first, because availability can change even when the underlying game or collecting mechanic remains the same.

Useful details to check

For collectors using Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration Futuristic Rare, keep physical set numbering separate from product promos and digital TCG Live ownership. A promotional insert can sit outside the main checklist even when its box carries the same anniversary branding.

Condition, print variation and market price are separate from the checklist question answered by Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration Futuristic Rare. This page therefore uses official contents and numbering rather than treating volatile resale listings as authoritative set data.

When a product connected to Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration Futuristic Rare has not released yet, the listed contents come from Pokémon’s official product announcement. Retailer bundles may add extras, but those additions are not part of the sealed Pokémon product itself.

Regional availability matters for Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration Futuristic Rare. Product names and core contents can be announced globally while individual retailers, preorder dates and promotional distribution still vary by country.

Pack structure and pull probability are different questions within Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration Futuristic Rare. A guaranteed card slot can be stated exactly, while the odds of pulling a specific non-guaranteed rarity should not be invented without published data.

Tournament use connected to Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration Futuristic Rare depends on the specific card pool and current format rules. Anniversary branding alone does not make every historical reprint or promotional card legal for sanctioned play.
