Silverwing in Pursuit of the Moon is now live in Genshin Impact 7.1, bringing the Moonchase Festival back to Liyue with three separate gameplay modes, event quests and a Festive Cheer reward track. The event starts at 10:00 server time on September 24 and runs until October 12 at 03:59 server time.

The headline reward from Silverwing in Pursuit of the Moon is the event-exclusive four-star Sword Silver Light, but the live event also includes Primogems, a Crown of Insight and Tea-Scented Tassel refinement materials. Players no longer need to guess at the unlock requirements: the event requires Adventure Rank 20 and completion of Archon Quest Prologue: Act III, Song of the Dragon and Freedom.

HoYoverse also recommends completing Dulciaria Structura Chapter: Act I, Tapirus Somniator Chapter: Act I and the event quest A Lanternlit Ode to the Silver Moon for the best story experience. Those recommendations are different from the hard eligibility requirement for Silverwing in Pursuit of the Moon.

The Great Chase and Dispelling

In Silverwing in Pursuit of the Moon, The Great Chase and Dispelling is the traversal and score-chasing mode. You control a rattan figure along a fixed route, collecting Adeptal Energy while avoiding or dispelling miasmic energy. Contact with corruption can reduce your score, so the challenge is about route choice as much as raw speed.

The Protection skill lets the figure dash forward and dispel miasmic energy for points, but it uses Battle Energy. Gates along the route can either add points, multiply the current score or restore the resources needed for Protection. The best runs prioritise high-value gates without arriving at a corrupted section with no Battle Energy left.

Banner Against the Dark

Banner Against the Dark is the combat mode in Silverwing in Pursuit of the Moon. Each challenge has two phases. The first asks you to defeat as many normal enemies as possible within the time limit, while the second switches to a boss and scores you on damage dealt before time expires.

A special Banner supports the run. Defeating enemies during the first phase builds its Energy and increases its level. When the boss phase begins, the Banner activates periodically and summons allied units, so clearing the first wave efficiently directly improves the help you receive against the boss.

Spiritshot Salvo

The third Silverwing in Pursuit of the Moon mode, Spiritshot Salvo, turns the event into a barrage-style minigame using Spiritshots, Sigils and spells. Aim matters, but ricochets and catching returning Spiritshots at the correct time can also improve the rate at which you fire again.

Enemies may drop Spirit Power used for level-ups and battle talismans that grant temporary buffs. Normal Mode does not necessarily end the moment Vitality reaches zero, but losing all Vitality can make you ineligible for some rewards, so surviving cleanly still matters even when the stage continues.

Festive Cheer, quests and Silver Light rewards

Progress across the three activities awards Festive Cheer. Reaching the required totals on the Silverwing in Pursuit of the Moon reward track unlocks Silver Light, Primogems, a Crown of Insight and the event-exclusive refinement materials used to improve the Sword.

The event also includes Festive Priorities and Wondrous Anecdotes quests. These are worth checking instead of only running the minigames, because HoYoverse lists additional Primogems and other rewards behind the event quest layer.

If Silver Light is your main goal, our How to Get Silver Light guide covers the weapon separately. The Moonchase Festival rewards guide covers the wider reward pool.

What should you prioritise first?

For Silverwing in Pursuit of the Moon, start with the currently unlocked stages, then keep an eye on the September 26 and September 28 phase unlocks rather than assuming the full event is available on day one. Once enough Festive Cheer is available, prioritise Silver Light and every Tea-Scented Tassel if you want the complete event weapon before the October 12 deadline.

Silverwing in Pursuit of the Moon is a mixed event rather than one repeated combat challenge, so a weak combat roster does not block every reward. The traversal and barrage modes test different skills, while the combat mode gives developed teams a place to push higher scores.

HoYoverse posts the live event notices and any schedule changes on the official Genshin Impact website.
