Minecraft Dungeons II preorder bonuses are packaged as the Hero Pack on the Xbox Store: two hero skins, the Twisted Cape and the Twisted Chicken pet. Mojang’s official store says the limited-time preorder offer expires September 28, 2026, one day before launch.
The Hero Pack name does not mean there is a second, different preorder bundle you need to buy. It is the storefront label Xbox uses for the same preorder reward package attached to qualifying Standard and Deluxe Edition preorders.
Minecraft Dungeons II preorder bonuses: everything in the Hero Pack
Minecraft Dungeons II preorder bonuses Image Mojang Studios.
| Reward | What it is |
|---|---|
| 2 Hero Skins | Exclusive Alex and Steve hero skins for Minecraft Dungeons II. |
| Twisted Cape | The preorder cape, separate from the Hero Cape and Corrupted Creeper Cape. |
| Twisted Chicken Pet | A soul-infused cosmetic companion included in the preorder package. |
Those three reward types make up the Minecraft Dungeons II preorder bonuses currently listed by Mojang and Xbox. The Xbox add-on page calls the package Hero Pack, while Minecraft’s own store describes the same contents as the limited-time preorder bonus.
What is the Minecraft Dungeons II Hero Pack?
Hero Pack is the official Xbox Store add-on name for the preorder bonus. It lists the Twisted Chicken Pet, Twisted Cape and two Hero Skins and is shown as included with both the Standard and Deluxe Edition preorder bundles.
That means you should not confuse Hero Pack with the Minecraft Dungeons II Soul Pack. Soul Pack is the Deluxe content bundle containing the Soul Cape, Blub pet, four hero skins and DLC 1 and DLC 2 as they become available.
When do the Minecraft Dungeons II preorder bonuses end?
Mojang says the Minecraft Dungeons II preorder bonuses offer expires September 28, 2026. Minecraft Dungeons II launches September 29, so the preorder window closes before release day.
If you are waiting until the last minute, check the storefront you are actually buying from rather than assuming every regional store will display the countdown in the same way. Our release date and time guide covers the confirmed launch date and the platform-specific timing we know so far.
How to claim the Hero Pack after launch
For the Minecraft Dungeons II preorder bonuses, Mojang says to preorder before launch, then sign into Minecraft Dungeons II with the Microsoft account tied to the purchase after the game launches and confirm that the preorder items have been acquired.
The Twisted Cape also crosses into Minecraft: Java Edition and Bedrock Edition. Mojang says that after confirming the cape in Dungeons II, you should log into Java and/or Bedrock with the same Microsoft account and confirm the Twisted Cape there.
Does Standard Edition include the Hero Pack?
Yes. The Xbox Store lists Hero Pack inside the Standard Edition preorder bundle. Deluxe also lists Hero Pack, but Deluxe additionally contains Soul Pack. You do not need Deluxe solely to receive the limited preorder cosmetics.
If the edition decision is still unclear, our Minecraft Dungeons II price and editions page compares the base prices, while Minecraft Dungeons II Deluxe Edition separates the permanent Deluxe extras from the time-limited preorder package.
Hero Pack vs Soul Pack
| Pack | Contents | How you get it |
|---|---|---|
| Hero Pack | 2 hero skins, Twisted Cape, Twisted Chicken pet | Qualifying preorder before the offer ends |
| Soul Pack | Soul Cape, Blub pet, 4 hero skins, DLC 1 and DLC 2 as available | Included with Deluxe Edition; listed as a separate game-required add-on |
The cleanest way to read the Minecraft Dungeons II preorder bonuses is to separate the two store labels. Hero Pack is the preorder package. Soul Pack is the Deluxe content package. Buying Deluxe before the preorder deadline can therefore show both add-ons in the bundle.
What is not included in the preorder Hero Pack?
The Hero Cape is not a Hero Pack item despite the similar name. Its requirement is to have played the original Minecraft Dungeons and then log into Minecraft Dungeons II with the same Microsoft account before December 31, 2026.
The Corrupted Creeper Cape is separate again. Its current route is a limited TikTok/Twitch watchtime promotion ending September 26. Neither cape should be treated as proof that you bought the preorder Hero Pack.
Do Game Pass players get the preorder bonuses?
Game Pass access and preorder ownership are separate. Xbox confirms Minecraft Dungeons II as a day-one Game Pass title, but the Minecraft Dungeons II preorder bonuses are tied to the preorder package rather than simply launching the game through a subscription.
Our Minecraft Dungeons II Game Pass guide covers the base-game subscription access. If you are planning multiplayer on launch day, the multiplayer guide covers crossplay, matchmaking, party codes and couch co-op.
