WoW New Paladin Races are coming in Midnight Patch 12.2 Eclipse, with Night Elf, Forsaken and Troll characters gaining access to the class. For Troll players, this means the standard Darkspear option; Zandalari Trolls already have Paladin access.
Night Elf Paladins
Night Elf Paladins are finally becoming a normal character-creation option rather than existing only through lore examples and player wish lists. Blizzard has confirmed the race-class combination for Eclipse.
Forsaken Paladins
Forsaken also gain Paladin access. It is one of the more striking additions because the relationship between the undead and the Light has always been uncomfortable, but Forsaken priests and Warcraft lore have long shown that undeath does not make the Light completely inaccessible.
Darkspear Troll Paladins
Blizzard’s written recap says Troll characters will be able to become Paladins. Because Zandalari Trolls already have the class, the new option applies to the standard playable Troll race associated with the Darkspear.
When Do the New Combinations Arrive?
All three arrive with Eclipse, the final major content update for Midnight. Blizzard has not announced the patch’s exact release date yet.
Do They Get Special Spell Effects?
No unique Night Elf moonlight effects, Forsaken shadow-holy visuals or Darkspear loa-themed spell package has been confirmed. Unless Blizzard announces cosmetic glyphs or racial spell treatments later, players should not assume bespoke visual kits.
What About Paladin Mounts?
Blizzard has shown the new race combinations, but the final racial mount presentation and any special Charger variants are not fully documented in the written recap. That is another detail worth checking once the options reach PTR.
Why Add Them Now?
Eclipse pushes the Light-versus-Void conflict to its peak as players descend toward Xal’atath and the Worldcore. Expanding who can answer the call of the Light fits that story moment even though each race arrives with very different cultural baggage.
Are More Paladin Races Coming?
Blizzard has only announced these three for Eclipse. Worgen, Kul Tiran, Void Elf and other requested combinations were not part of this reveal, so there is no confirmed schedule for them.
What Is Firm So Far?
The race access itself is confirmed; presentation, mounts and any race-specific flavour remain open questions. Those details should become clearer on the official World of Warcraft site and PTR before Eclipse launches.
