Is Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 on PS4?
No. Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 is not available on PS4.
Konami’s supported PlayStation platform for Vol. 2 is PS5.
This is different from Master Collection Vol. 1, which eventually became available on PS4 as well as PS5.
There has been no PS4 version announced for Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2.
If you are still using a PlayStation 4, you therefore cannot currently play the second Master Collection on that console.
Is Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 on Xbox?
Yes. Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 is available on Xbox Series X|S.
Both current Xbox consoles are supported.
However, the Xbox Series X|S version is sold digitally.
Konami does not offer a physical Xbox edition of Master Collection Vol. 2, including for Xbox Series X owners with a disc drive.
Xbox players can purchase the complete collection digitally or buy Metal Gear Solid 4 and Peace Walker separately as individual digital releases.
Is Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 on Xbox One?

Only Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S are supported.

Yes. Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 is available on PC through Steam.
The PC release arrived on August 27 alongside the console versions.
It is a digital-only release, so there is no physical PC edition.
As on console, PC players can either purchase the complete Master Collection Vol. 2 or buy Metal Gear Solid 4 and Peace Walker individually through Steam.
Is Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 on Nintendo Switch 2?
Yes. Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 is available on Nintendo Switch 2.
Switch 2 received its own version of the collection at launch.
Both physical and digital purchasing options are available, making Switch 2 one of the platforms where you can buy a boxed version rather than being restricted to a download.
Is Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 on Nintendo Switch?
Yes. The original Nintendo Switch is also a Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 platform.
You do not need a Nintendo Switch 2 to play the collection.
Konami released separate versions for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, with both systems supported from August 27.
Physical and digital editions are available on Nintendo Switch.
Does Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 Have Physical Copies?
Yes, but physical availability depends on your platform.
Physical editions are available for:
- PS5
- Nintendo Switch
- Nintendo Switch 2
There is no physical edition for:
- Xbox Series X|S
- PC
Konami specifically lists the Xbox Series X|S and Steam versions as digital-only releases.
That means Xbox Series X owners cannot buy a disc copy despite the console supporting physical games.
Can You Buy MGS4 Separately?
Yes.
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots can be purchased separately as a digital game without buying Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2.
The same applies to Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.
However, purchasing the games individually does not give you all of the bonus content included with the complete collection.
Metal Gear: Ghost Babel is included as bonus content with Master Collection Vol. 2 rather than being one of the separately sold games.
Does Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 Have Multiplayer?
Multiplayer support is limited to Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.
Peace Walker supports online multiplayer for up to six players depending on the mode.
There is no crossplay, so players on different platforms cannot play Peace Walker together.
The Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions also support local communication multiplayer for Peace Walker.
Metal Gear Solid 4 does not provide online multiplayer in the Master Collection release.
Does Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 Have Crossplay?
No. Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 does not support crossplay.
Online functionality is available for Peace Walker, but Konami confirms that cross-platform multiplayer is not supported.
If you plan to play Peace Walker with friends online, you will therefore need to be on compatible versions rather than relying on crossplay between PS5, Xbox, PC and Nintendo systems.
Which Platforms Have Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2?
The complete Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 platforms list is PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
PS4 and Xbox One are not supported.
All five versions launched on August 27, 2026, and the actual game lineup is the same across the supported platforms, including Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and bonus game Metal Gear: Ghost Babel.
The biggest purchasing difference is physical availability. PS5, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 have physical editions, while Xbox Series X|S and PC are digital-only.
