Regidrago is a pure Dragon-type Pokémon. Its typing gives it three weaknesses and resistance to several common elemental attack types.

Resists

FIRE½×WATER½×ELECTRIC½×GRASS½×

Based on Dragon typing. Abilities may modify these matchups.

Can Regidrago Be Shiny in Pokémon GO?

Yes, shiny Regidrago is available in Pokémon GO.

Regular Regidrago has a dark body with red dragon-shaped arms surrounding it. Shiny Regidrago changes the red sections to a pale blue colour, making the shiny version easy to distinguish during the catch encounter.

Shiny Regidrago was first released in Pokémon GO during the Max Out Finale event in November 2024.

A shiny encounter is not guaranteed after defeating the raid boss. Trainers may need to complete several Regidrago Pokémon GO raids before finding the shiny version.

Regidrago will not appear shiny during the battle. The shiny check takes place after the raid has been completed and the catch encounter begins.

Regidrago Pokémon GO Weaknesses

The main Regidrago Pokémon GO weaknesses are:

  • Dragon-type attacks
  • Fairy-type attacks
  • Ice-type attacks
ICE2×DRAGON2×FAIRY2×

As a pure Dragon type, Regidrago resists:

  • Electric-type attacks
  • Fire-type attacks
  • Grass-type attacks
  • Water-type attacks

Dragon Pokémon can deal some of the highest damage in a Regidrago Pokémon GO raid, but they may also take super-effective damage from Regidrago’s Dragon-type attacks.

Fairy Pokémon are often the safer choice because they resist Dragon-type damage. Ice types can also perform well, although they may be less durable depending on the raid boss moveset.

Best Regidrago Pokémon GO Raid Counters

The best Regidrago Pokémon GO counters are powerful Dragon, Fairy and Ice-type attackers.

PokémonRecommended moves

Mega GarchompDragon Tail and Breaking Swipe
Black KyuremDragon Tail and Freeze Shock

Mega GardevoirCharm and Dazzling Gleam
Shadow GarchompDragon Tail and Breaking Swipe
Origin Forme DialgaDragon Breath and Roar of Time
Mega SalamenceDragon Tail and Draco Meteor
Shadow MamoswinePowder Snow and Avalanche

Mega Rayquaza is one of the strongest Regidrago Pokémon GO raid counters available, although it can take heavy damage from Dragon-type attacks.

Mega Gardevoir is a safer option when Regidrago has Dragon Breath, Dragon Energy, Outrage or another Dragon-type attack. Fairy Pokémon resist Dragon damage while dealing super-effective damage in return.

Other useful counters include Rayquaza, Garchomp, Dragonite, Salamence, Haxorus, Togekiss, Gardevoir, Baxcalibur and Mamoswine.

Can Regidrago Be Defeated Solo?

Regidrago has an unusually high HP stat but very low Defence. With top-level counters, favourable weather and a suitable raid boss moveset, a Regidrago Pokémon GO solo can be possible.

However, soloing Regidrago requires a powerful team, usually including Level 40 or Level 50 attackers.

Most Trainers should aim for:

TrainersRecommendation
OnePossible with exceptional counters
TwoAchievable with strong teams
ThreeComfortable for experienced players
Four or moreRecommended for most groups

A larger group is sensible when players are using lower-level counters, joining remotely or lacking suitable Mega, Legendary or Shadow Pokémon.

Party Power and friendship bonuses can make the raid much easier.

Regidrago Pokémon GO Perfect IV CP

The perfect IV Regidrago Pokémon GO catch values are:

Encounter conditionsPerfect IV CP
Level 20 without weather boost1,699 CP
Level 25 with Windy weather2,124 CP

The normal Regidrago catch range is between 1,614 CP and 1,699 CP without a weather boost.

During Windy weather, Regidrago is encountered between 2,017 CP and 2,124 CP.

A Regidrago caught at 1,699 CP or 2,124 CP under the corresponding conditions will have perfect 15/15/15 IVs.

Best Regidrago Pokémon GO Moveset

The best Regidrago Pokémon GO moveset for raids is:

  • Fast Attack: Dragon Breath
  • Charged Attack: Dragon Energy

This combination turns Regidrago into a strong Dragon-type raid attacker with high total damage output.

Regidrago can use the following attacks:

Fast Attacks

  • Dragon Breath
  • Bite

Charged Attacks

  • Dragon Energy
  • Breaking Swipe
  • Outrage
  • Dragon Pulse
  • Vise Grip
  • Hyper Beam

Dragon Breath and Dragon Energy may only be available during specific events or through Elite TMs.

Without Dragon Breath, Regidrago must use Bite, which does not benefit from the same-type attack bonus and reduces its effectiveness as a Dragon attacker.

Dragon Energy is Regidrago’s signature move and its strongest Charged Attack. Trainers planning to use Regidrago regularly should prioritise this attack.

Is Regidrago Good in Pokémon GO Raids?

Regidrago is now a useful Dragon-type raid attacker when it has Dragon Breath and Dragon Energy.

Its base Attack stat is lower than that of many other Legendary Dragon Pokémon, but its enormous HP allows it to remain in battle and continue dealing damage for longer.

The Regidrago Pokémon GO raid performance is strongest when attacking Dragon-type bosses such as:

  • Palkia
  • Reshiram
  • Zekrom
  • Giratina
  • Kyurem
  • Rayquaza
  • Latios
  • Latias

However, Dragon-type raid attackers face intense competition. Mega Rayquaza, Black Kyurem, White Kyurem, Origin Forme Palkia and other top Dragons can deal significantly more damage.

Regidrago is still a worthwhile option for Trainers who need additional Dragon attackers, particularly if it has both of its best moves.

Is Regidrago Good in PvP?

Regidrago can work as an unusual choice in the GO Battle League, particularly in the Ultra League.

Its huge HP stat gives it considerable bulk despite its low Defence. Dragon Breath provides consistent Fast Attack pressure, while Vise Grip can be used as a cheaper Charged Attack to pressure shields.

The recommended Regidrago Pokémon GO PvP moveset is:

  • Fast Attack: Dragon Breath
  • Charged Attack: Dragon Energy
  • Second Charged Attack: Vise Grip

Regidrago can struggle against Fairy and Steel Pokémon. Its limited coverage also makes it somewhat predictable, preventing it from becoming a dominant PvP option.

It is best viewed as an interesting alternative rather than an essential GO Battle League investment.

What Is Regidrago?

Regidrago is a Legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation VIII through The Crown Tundra expansion for Pokémon Sword and Shield.

Its body is made from crystallised Dragon energy. According to Pokémon lore, Regigigas attempted to create Regidrago but ran out of suitable material before completing its body.

Regidrago belongs to the Legendary Titan group alongside:

  • Regirock
  • Regice
  • Registeel
  • Regigigas
  • Regieleki

An academic theory proposes that Regidrago’s arms were once the head of an ancient dragon Pokémon. The theory remains unproven.

Is Regidrago Pokémon GO Worth Raiding?

Regidrago Pokémon GO raids are worth completing for the Pokédex entry, shiny chance, Candy and the opportunity to catch a strong Dragon-type attacker.

Regidrago is considerably more useful when it has Dragon Breath and Dragon Energy. A version without these moves may require Elite TMs before it can reach its full potential.

It is not the strongest Dragon Pokémon in the game, but its high HP and improved moveset give it genuine raid value. Collectors will also need Regidrago to complete the full Legendary Titan collection.
