Regigigas Pokémon GO encounters give Trainers the chance to catch one of the most recognisable members of the Legendary Titans. Regigigas has one of the highest maximum CP totals in Pokémon GO, but its unusual moveset means it is not always as useful as its enormous stats suggest.

This Regigigas Pokémon GO guide covers shiny Regigigas, its weaknesses, strongest raid counters, perfect IV CP, best moveset and whether it is worth using in raids or the GO Battle League.

NORMAL

Regigigas is a pure Normal-type Pokémon. This gives Regigigas Pokémon GO encounters a very simple defensive profile, with only one weakness to worry about.

Damage taken when Regigigas is hit by each type:

Weak to

FIGHTING2×

Immune to

GHOST0×

Based on Normal typing. Abilities may modify these matchups.

Can Regigigas Be Shiny in Pokémon GO?

Yes, shiny Regigigas is available in Pokémon GO.

Regular Regigigas has a mostly white body with yellow armour-like sections, dark markings and patches of green vegetation. Shiny Regigigas changes the yellow sections to blue, making the shiny form reasonably easy to recognise.

Shiny Regigigas is not guaranteed after winning a raid. Trainers may need to complete several Regigigas Pokémon GO raids before the shiny version appears.

Regigigas will not look shiny during the raid battle itself. The shiny check takes place after the boss has been defeated and the catch encounter begins.

Regigigas Pokémon GO Weaknesses

The only Regigigas Pokémon GO weakness is Fighting-type damage.

FIGHTING2×

As a pure Normal type, Regigigas is:

  • Weak to Fighting-type attacks
  • Resistant to Ghost-type attacks
  • Not double weak to any type

Building a Regigigas Pokémon GO raid team is therefore straightforward. Trainers should use their strongest Fighting-type Pokémon equipped with Fighting-type Fast and Charged Attacks.

Cloudy weather boosts Fighting-type attacks. Partly Cloudy weather boosts Regigigas and increases the CP of the Pokémon encountered after a successful raid.

Best Regigigas Pokémon GO Raid Counters

The best Regigigas Pokémon GO counters are powerful Fighting-type attackers capable of dealing heavy damage quickly.

KeldeoLow Kick and Sacred Sword
TerrakionDouble Kick and Sacred Sword

Shadow MachampCounter and Dynamic Punch
ConkeldurrCounter and Dynamic Punch
MachampCounter and Dynamic Punch
HariyamaForce Palm and Dynamic Punch

Mega Lucario is one of the strongest Regigigas Pokémon GO raid counters available. Terrakion, Keldeo, Lucario and Shadow Machamp are also excellent choices.

Trainers without top-tier counters can still use Machamp, Hariyama, Breloom or other strong Fighting-type Pokémon.

The most important thing is making sure both the Fast Attack and Charged Attack deal Fighting-type damage. Avoid using Ghost-type attacks because Regigigas resists Ghost damage.

How Many Trainers Are Needed to Beat Regigigas?

A small group of experienced Trainers with strong Fighting-type teams may be able to defeat Regigigas under favourable conditions.

Most players should aim for at least four or five Trainers to complete a Regigigas Pokémon GO raid comfortably.

More players may be needed when:

  • Counters are below Level 40
  • Pokémon do not have Fighting-type attacks
  • Mega Pokémon are unavailable
  • Friendship damage bonuses are not active
  • Players are joining remotely
  • Regigigas has a Charged Attack that threatens the selected team

Party Power, weather boosts, Mega Evolution bonuses and friendship damage can reduce the time needed to defeat Regigigas.

Regigigas Pokémon GO Perfect IV CP

The perfect IV Regigigas Pokémon GO catch values are:

Encounter conditionsPerfect IV CP
Level 20 without weather boost2,483 CP
Level 25 with Partly Cloudy weather3,104 CP

A Regigigas caught at 2,483 CP after a non-weather-boosted raid will have perfect 15/15/15 IVs.

A weather-boosted Regigigas caught at 3,104 CP will also have perfect IVs.

Regigigas can be difficult to catch, so use Golden Razz Berries and aim for Excellent Curveball Throws whenever possible.

Best Regigigas Pokémon GO Moveset

The best Regigigas Pokémon GO moveset for general raid and Gym damage is:

  • Fast Attack: Hidden Power
  • Charged Attack: Crush Grip

Hidden Power can have different attack types. This means two Regigigas with identical IVs may perform differently depending on the Hidden Power type they receive.

Regigigas may have access to the following attacks:

Fast Attacks

  • Hidden Power
  • Zen Headbutt

Charged Attacks

  • Crush Grip
  • Giga Impact
  • Focus Blast
  • Thunder

Crush Grip is generally the most important Charged Attack for Regigigas. Depending on its availability, an Elite Charged TM may be required to teach Regigigas Crush Grip.

Giga Impact deals heavy Normal-type damage but needs a large amount of energy. Focus Blast gives Regigigas some Fighting-type coverage, while Thunder provides coverage against Water and Flying-type Pokémon.

Is Regigigas Good in Pokémon GO Raids?

Regigigas has extremely high stats and an impressive maximum CP, but it is not considered an essential raid attacker.

The biggest problem is Normal typing. Normal-type attacks do not deal super-effective damage against any Pokémon type. Even when Regigigas deals respectable neutral damage, a specialist attacker exploiting the raid boss weakness will usually perform better.

The Regigigas Pokémon GO moveset also lacks a consistently strong Fast Attack. Hidden Power can be useful with the right type, but it is unpredictable and cannot normally be changed with a regular Fast TM.

Regigigas is therefore more valuable as a collector’s Pokémon than as a priority raid investment.

Is Regigigas Good in PvP?

Regigigas is difficult to use consistently in the GO Battle League.

Its high CP makes the Master League its most natural format, but it faces strong competition from Legendary Pokémon with better defensive typings, faster energy generation and more flexible attacks.

Regigigas can deal heavy damage if it reaches Crush Grip, Giga Impact or Focus Blast. However, its slow energy generation can allow opponents to use several Charged Attacks first.

The Regigigas Pokémon GO PvP role is therefore limited. It may work as a surprise option, but it is not currently one of the safest Master League investments.

What Is Regigigas?

Regigigas is a Legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation IV. It is known as the Colossal Pokémon and is said to have moved continents by pulling them with ropes.

Regigigas is the leader of the Legendary Titans:

  • Regirock
  • Regice
  • Registeel
  • Regieleki
  • Regidrago

All over the world, there are legends that tell of Regigigas creating other Pokémon in its own image.

Is Regigigas Pokémon GO Worth Raiding?

Regigigas Pokémon GO raids are worth completing when you need the Pokédex entry, want shiny Regigigas, are hunting for perfect IVs or need additional Regigigas Candy.

Regigigas is not a must-have raid attacker, so most Trainers do not need to spend large numbers of Premium Battle Passes once they have caught a good version.

Collectors may still want to continue raiding until they find shiny Regigigas or a perfect-IV encounter.

Regigigas is also an important part of a complete Legendary Titan collection alongside Regirock, Regice, Registeel, Regieleki and Regidrago.
