BTD6 Lead Bloons: Which Towers Can Pop Them

BTD6 Lead Bloons resist ordinary sharp darts. For an early counter, use a Bomb Shooter or give a Sniper Monkey Full Metal Jacket. Standard round 28 is the first Lead test, so make sure one of those attacks is ready before it starts.

If Lead Bloons pass straight through a defence that’s been working perfectly, your towers may be using the wrong damage type. More of the same darts won’t break the metal layer, no matter how impressive their earlier pop counts were.

BTD6 Lead Bloons: Towers that can damage Lead

A Bomb Shooter’s normal explosions can break Lead. A Sniper with Full Metal Jacket is another direct option, and certain fire, alchemical and upgraded attacks also work. You only need one suitable attack for the early Lead check, provided the rest of your defence can clear what follows.

Look at what the tower actually fires. Being in the Magic category doesn’t automatically make an attack suitable for Lead; some projectiles are still sharp or otherwise incompatible. Upgrades and support can change what a tower can damage.

For BTD6 Lead Bloons, don’t sell an entire defence because it can’t handle one metal layer. Add a compatible attack along the same stretch of track, then let your existing towers clear the smaller Bloons.

Why won’t Dart Monkeys pop Lead?

Basic Dart Monkey projectiles are sharp damage. That means extra attack speed won’t fix the Lead immunity. You need a different damage type, a suitable higher-tier upgrade or support that actually allows Lead damage.

A higher-tier Dart attack may have different properties from its starting dart, so don’t turn that basic rule into a claim that every possible Dart Monkey build is useless against Lead. The specific upgrade and any supporting effects are what matter.

BTD6 Lead Bloons: Prepare for round 28

On round 28, check your Lead counter’s range before pressing Start. A Bomb Shooter near a bend gets more chances to hit the metal layer, while another tower can handle the smaller Bloons underneath. Don’t leave your only suitable attacker watching a tiny section of track.

If the Lead breaks but something still escapes, you’ve solved the immunity and uncovered a cleanup problem. Add attack speed or pierce to the defence that handles ordinary Bloons rather than buying a second expensive Lead counter immediately.

This BTD6 Lead Bloons plan does not promise identical purchases on every map. Tower prices vary with difficulty, and game modes can restrict what you buy. See the first 40 rounds guide for how Lead fits between Camo on 24 and the first MOAB on 40.

Can Magic towers pop BTD6 Lead Bloons?

Some Magic-category towers can pop Lead; others can’t without a specific upgrade. The category label is not enough to make the decision. Read the attack properties rather than buying a Wizard or Druid on the assumption that all magic damages metal.

This also explains why a tower built around fire or energy might handle Lead but need a different attack for Purple Bloons. Purple resists several of those damage types. A balanced defence covers both weaknesses.

How to handle Camo Lead and DDTs

Camo Lead needs two things: a tower must detect Camo and its attack must damage Lead. Radar Scanner supplies the first requirement to nearby towers, not automatically the second.

DDTs add high speed and Black immunity as well as Camo and Lead. A Bomb Shooter that handles round 28 may fail later, so don’t treat your first BTD6 Lead Bloons solution as an automatic round 90 answer.

Watch how the tower reacts. If it never shoots, check detection and range. If it shoots but the layer stays intact, check the damage type. If it breaks Lead and the children escape, improve your cleanup.

BTD6 Lead Bloons: What should you check before buying?

Ask whether the tower has a Lead-compatible attack, whether its range reaches the track, and whether the Bloon also has Camo. Those questions lead to the correct fix much faster than buying more towers of a type that cannot damage the enemy at all.

The BTD6 Lead Bloons answer is to buy the right kind of damage, not simply more damage. Once you can break Lead, keep the rest of the defence ready for the Bloons inside. Our Camo guide covers the separate targeting problem.
