Pokémon GO Sendai Lapras Stamp Rally takes you to eight landmarks across Sendai and the wider Tohoku region, with a Lapras encounter waiting when you collect all eight stamps. This eight-stop Lapras rally launched on 3 November 2026. It’s separate from the seven-stop Wild Area rally for ticket holders. You can take part without buying an event ticket, provided you visit the participating locations in person.
There are two Sendai stamp sheets, and they have different stops. The Pokémon GO Sendai Lapras Stamp Rally has eight locations, no announced end date and a Lapras encounter with a Sendai • Tohoku Location Background. The ticketed weekend version has seven stops and must be completed on the date printed on your ticket.
All eight Pokémon GO Sendai Lapras Stamp Rally locations

Pokémon GO names the following eight landmarks for the Pokémon GO Sendai Lapras Stamp Rally. They’re presented in the publisher’s order, but you can visit them in any order. The area is broader than central Sendai, so don’t assume the entire collection is a short walk around the city centre.
| Stamp | Official location | What you’ll find |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Site of Sendai Castle | Historic castle ruins and views over Sendai |
| 2 | Sendai Mediatheque | A city-centre cultural building with library and gallery spaces |
| 3 | Sendai Asaichi (Morning Market) | A market street near Sendai Station |
| 4 | Akiu Onsen | A historic hot-spring area |
| 5 | Tagajo Castle Ruins | Remains of a major historic fortress |
| 6 | Kadonowaki Elementary School Ruins | A preserved disaster memorial and educational site |
| 7 | Shiroishi Castle | A reconstructed castle associated with the Katakura clan |
| 8 | Matsushima Park | A scenic waterfront area near Matsushima Bay |
These eight landmarks aren’t all within walking distance of Sendai Station. Akiu Onsen, Shiroishi Castle and the Kadonowaki school ruins are well beyond the central-city ticketed stops. Use the in-game Stamp Rally map to find each participating PokéStop.
How to start the Pokémon GO Sendai Lapras Stamp Rally
First, enter the designated citywide gameplay area in Sendai or Tohoku. Approach one of the marked Stamp Rally PokéStops. The game provides a stamp sheet and shows a Stamp Rally button on your map. Once the rally is active, the participating stops have an orange stamp icon above them.
Spin the Photo Disc and press on the stamp sheet to record that stop. Holding down longer makes the ink darker. Each stamp shows the PokéStop’s name and date, and you can’t stamp the same spot again if you don’t like how it looks.
Repeat at the remaining locations until the sheet is full. There’s no compulsory starting point, and the publisher has not set a particular visiting order. If you’re travelling between different parts of Miyagi, check the eight locations before choosing transport; the game does not promise a fixed walking route or a single compact circuit.
Lapras reward, Sendai Location Background and Shiny chance
Collect all eight stamps in the Pokémon GO Sendai Lapras Stamp Rally and you’ll earn a Lapras encounter with a Sendai • Tohoku Location Background. That’s the completion reward for this ongoing rally, not the ticketed seven-stop collection.
Lapras can be Shiny, but it isn’t guaranteed. Pokémon GO hasn’t published a Shiny rate for the reward. You earn the Lapras encounter and Location Background whether it’s Shiny or not.

Is the Pokémon GO Sendai Lapras Stamp Rally permanent and free?
The Pokémon GO Sendai Lapras Stamp Rally launched on 2 November 2026 at 4 PM Pacific Standard Time, which was 3 November at midnight GMT and 9 AM Japan Standard Time. Pokémon GO says there is no planned end date. That’s different from promising it will run forever: the company can announce changes in future, so check the game when arranging a later visit.
The publisher also says all Trainers visiting the location can participate. You do not need the separate GO Wild Area Sendai event ticket to access this eight-stamp rally. Physical travel is still essential, however. Opening the game from another country or participating in GO Wild Area: Global does not automatically give you the Sendai stamps.
Eight permanent stamps versus seven ticketed Sendai stamps
| Feature | Ongoing Lapras rally | Wild Area event-day rally |
|---|---|---|
| Number of stamps | Eight | Seven |
| Ticket needed? | No | Yes |
| Availability | Ongoing, no planned end | 6 to 8 November, on original ticket date only |
| Daily deadline | No event-day 8 PM deadline | 8 PM JST on your ticket day |
| Featured completion reward | Lapras with Sendai Location Background | Separate event-themed rewards |
Our ticketed Sendai rally guide lists those seven separate stops. Mexico City also has a new eight-stop Hawlucha rally, with a different Location Background reward.
What to check before you travel
Open Pokémon GO in the destination area and use the dedicated Stamp Rally view to locate highlighted stops. Keep enough battery for a day of spinning and stamping, and allow for the fact that some listed sites are well outside Sendai Station’s immediate surroundings. For sensitive locations such as the Kadonowaki Elementary School Ruins memorial, follow local visitor rules and give the site the respect it deserves.
The Pokémon GO Sendai Lapras Stamp Rally is best planned around the actual eight landmarks, not around an invented route or unconfirmed travel times. For players visiting during the Wild Area weekend, decide whether you’re collecting the ongoing Lapras stamps, the ticketed seven stamps or both. Their locations and eligibility differ, even though both use the same stamp mechanic.
