Warzone PS4 Xbox One support ends on November 6, 2026, when Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 launches worldwide. Activision confirms the free-to-play Warzone game will no longer run on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One after that transition. Players who want to continue will need a currently supported platform.
The good news is that your Activision account isn’t being deleted just because the old consoles are losing Warzone. Activision says eligible Warzone progress can carry to another supported device through the same linked Activision account. That matters if you have spent months or years building up unlocks.
When does Warzone PS4 Xbox One support end?
Warzone PS4 Xbox One support officially stops at midnight Eastern Time on Friday, November 6. That is 5:00 AM GMT in the UK and 6:00 AM CET across much of Europe. In the US Pacific time zone, the same update arrives at 9:00 PM on Thursday, November 5. Japan reaches the cutoff at 2:00 PM JST on Friday.
These are different local clocks for the same global launch, not separate regional shutdowns. There’s no separately announced grace period after Season 1 starts. The transition happens when the new season goes live.
Can you still play Warzone on PS4 or Xbox One?
Once Warzone PS4 Xbox One support is removed, Warzone matchmaking on those consoles is no longer supported. That does not automatically stop an older purchased Call of Duty campaign or another separately owned game from working. Those titles have their own compatibility and online-service rules.
Modern Warfare 4 also was not released on PS4 or Xbox One. Its new Warzone integration moves the ongoing free-to-play experience to supported newer platforms, but it does not retroactively erase licences for unrelated games.

What happens to your Activision account?
The Warzone PS4 Xbox One support change does not wipe your Activision account. The developer says that eligible Warzone progression remains available when moving to another supported device using the same linked Activision account.
Before upgrading, check the Activision login connected to your current PlayStation Network or Xbox profile. Use that same account when you install Warzone on the replacement platform. Otherwise, accidentally making a new account may leave you with an empty-looking progression profile.
Activision’s platform FAQ is more specific about purchases: content bought with COD Points carries over to supported platforms when you use the same linked Activision account. Unspent COD Points stay with your platform family, such as PS4 to PS5 or Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S. Most content bought directly with money is also restricted to the same console family. Check those rules before upgrading to a different ecosystem.
Which platforms still run Warzone?
With Warzone PS4 Xbox One support ending, the supported lineup includes PS5, Xbox Series X|S and supported PCs. Nintendo Switch 2 is joining Warzone with Season 1. The original Nintendo Switch is not announced as a compatible alternative.
Warzone remains free to play. You do not have to purchase the premium Modern Warfare 4 campaign and multiplayer game just to access Warzone on a supported device. Season 1 brings Hajin for Battle Royale, Zodiac for Resurgence, new weapons and updated progression.
Do cosmetics and purchases transfer?
The Warzone PS4 Xbox One support change does not wipe all your cosmetics, and Activision hasn’t promised refunds for every old-console purchase. Some legacy content remains in Warzone with restrictions. For instance, Legacy Weapons have fixed presets and cannot use the new Modern Warfare 4 mastery camo progression.
Those item rules are separate from whether a console can actually launch Warzone. Keeping eligible content on an Activision account is not the same as continuing to play on PS4 or Xbox One. Always distinguish support for hardware from the rules governing a particular item.
How to prepare before November 6
Before the Warzone PS4 Xbox One support cutoff, confirm your account connection, choose a supported new device, download the free Warzone game and log in using your existing Activision details. Check the account that appears before assuming your earned progress has gone missing.
For both consoles, Warzone ends with the November 6 update. Keep your existing Activision login and eligible progress will follow you onto a supported platform. The Click also has a dedicated Xbox One guide for anyone who wants the Xbox-specific details.
