Hull Rupture demo is available to download free on Steam ahead of the game’s November 4, 2026 release. Developer Konfa Games has updated the trial with two substantial systems: Hull Construction and a redesigned Post-Battle Shop, making the ship-building decisions more flexible and the resources needed for a successful run easier to manage.
If you played the earlier demo, the biggest changes are worth another look. You now have more control over the shape of your ship, and the shop offers groups of module and turret kits after battles. Both changes affect how you plan a run.
How to download the Hull Rupture demo on Steam

Open the official Hull Rupture store page in Steam, find the section labelled Download Hull Rupture Demo and select the download option. Install the trial through your Steam library and launch it there. The demo is free; the full game is a separate release scheduled for November 4.
The Hull Rupture demo gives you a hands-on introduction to keeping the spaceship moving while balancing its supply of humans, energy, resources and defences. Steam lists the main game as single-player, and the demo is a way to experience its strategy systems before committing to the release.
How Hull Construction works in the Hull Rupture demo
Hull Construction can be entered while the ship is in flight. The developer says entering this mode pauses the journey, allowing you to place a randomly offered hull block with empty module slots. You cannot rotate the offered block, but you can attach it to a side of the ship or place it a short distance away on stilts.
Those placements matter for two reasons. They change which corridors aliens can use when they board, and they determine where new equipment can be built. An empty module slot becomes available for construction when it has a completed module next to it. That makes planning the overall ship shape just as important as choosing the equipment itself.
Building hull blocks costs Energy in the early parts of the Hull Rupture demo, with Plasteel appearing later as a construction resource. If the offered block does not suit your layout, you can skip it at a cost. It is a deliberate trade-off, not a free building editor where every piece is available whenever you want.
What changed in the Post-Battle Shop?
The updated Post-Battle Shop sells themed loot boxes containing modules or turrets, replacing the old individual kits. Want better defences? Choose a turret box. Need to improve production? Choose a module box. These are purchases made with in-game resources, not real-money loot boxes.
The developer has also reduced how often the shop offers repeated kits. You still can’t choose every exact module whenever you like, but the new boxes make it easier to build towards a particular strategy without removing the randomness.
That change matters when your economy and defences are both under pressure. A better shop choice can help you reinforce a weak production chain or prepare for the next wave of aliens, rather than waiting for one individual kit to appear.
Which modes can you try?
The developer has named Classic Mode and Trade Mode as part of the demo selection. Classic combines management, exploration and tower defence. Trade removes the alien combat and replaces it with economic pressure, putting the focus on production and long-term survival decisions. The full game is advertised with six modes, but the demo should not be treated as access to all of them.
Konfa Games also introduced an automation button for converters, initially describing how it sends workers to the Bioreactor without repeated orders. More changes affect turret balance, artefacts, modifiers and the resources returned when demolishing modules. These details help explain why the Hull Rupture demo can feel different from an older build.
Does Hull Rupture demo progress carry over?
The developer has confirmed some carryover within different versions of the demo: previously available artefacts and the no-combat mode can remain unlocked, while the tutorial may be marked complete. That statement does not establish that every save or unlock will migrate from the trial into the separate full game when it launches.
Konfa Games says the Hull Construction tutorial can be re-enabled in the game’s General settings if it was skipped after an update. That is a documented demo instruction; it should not be confused with an invented save-conversion process. Avoid deleting or copying save files based on an assumption about full-game transfer.
The Hull Rupture demo gives you time to test construction, the crew economy and the new shop before the November 4 launch. If you played an older build, this update changes enough to make another run worthwhile.
