WWE WrestleMania 38 Seth Rollins Mystery Opponent

For weeks, Seth Rollins has been trying to secure a match at WrestleMania 38, with The Architect not having a match on the Showcase of the Immortals.

Eventually, Vince McMahon confirmed that he was to be on the show, but against an opponent of McMahon’s choosing.

Coincidentally, Cody Rhodes left AEW in February 2022 after having co-founded the company in 2019.

This caused the rumor mill to spin with speculation that Cody Rhodes would be returning to WWE after a six-year absence, and it turned out to be correct.

At WrestleMania 38, Cody Rhodes made his triumphant return to WWE and was revealed to be the mystery opponent of Seth Rollins.

An interesting note is that Rhodes is using his AEW theme song “Kingdom”, as well as his American Nightmare nickname.

The match between Rollins and Rhodes had a big match feel to it, with plenty of false finishes, including a spot where both men teased the Pedigree, a finishing move made famous by Triple H.

This was ironic because Cody Rhodes famously took a sledgehammer to a throne as a shot at Triple H at AEW’s Double Or Nothing PPV.

In the end, Cody Rhodes won the match following three Cross Rhodes finishing moves, as well as Dusty Rhodes’ (Cody’s father) iconic Bionic Elbow.
