It has now been confirmed that Cody Rhodes has resigned with WWE, after having left the company in 2016 and eventually going on to play a part in starting All Elite Wrestling in 2019.

Ever since Cody Rhodes left AEW in February, there has been a lot of speculation as to what the future might hold for the “Son of the son of a plumber”, with the belief being that he would sign with WWE and could face Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 38.

However, with there only being two weeks until the “Showcase of the Immortals” and Rhodes hadn’t debuted yet, it seemed like perhaps he wasn’t returning to WWE and it could potentially be a work and he was still with AEW, with some speculation being that he would be running Ring Of Honor.

But, with the confirmation that Cody Rhodes has signed with WWE, it seems like the Cody Rhodes vs Seth Rollins match could be happening.

As of right now on TV, Seth Rollins’ story has been that he doesn’t have a WrestleMania 38 match, with him recently trying to take Kevin Owen’s talk show segment with Stone Cold Steve Austin away from him.

With this happening on the most recent edition of Monday Night Raw, many fans assumed this meant that Rhodes hadn’t resigned and now WWE was panicking trying to get something put in place for Rollins, but that doesn’t look to be the case.

It looks like Cody Rhodes could be debuting at WrestleMania 38 itself as there is only two weeks left and Rhodes hasn’t appeared on WWE TV. This could make sense as the Hardy Boyz surprise returned at WrestleMania 33, however fans know Cody Rhodes was set to resign, so not having him involved in any build-up seems strange as he is the first major signing of a former AEW star, so far it has typically been WWE stars leaving for AEW.

It will be interesting to see what route they go with for this match, our prediction is that they will have Seth Rollins offer an open challenge at WrestleMania 38, and Rhodes will answer the challenge as it seems the only logical way to have Rhodes face Rollins with no prior booking or storyline, but this is unconfirmed as of right now and is purely speculation.
