After weeks of speculation, it has finally been confirmed that Cody Rhodes has signed with WWE following his recent AEW departure.

As confirmed by PWInsider, Cody Rhodes has finally inked a deal that will see him return to WWE during WrestleMania weekend.

Multiple sources have confirmed that Rhodes signed the deal 10-14 days ago and it has just been kept under wraps since then.

It was believed that Cody Rhodes would debut before WrestleMania and would challenge Seth Rollins to a match, a main storyline on Raw is that Rollins doesn’t have a match for the “Showcase of the Immortals”.

With only a couple of weeks left to go, it would be fair to assume that WWE would have this storyline play out to be able to hype up the match between Rollins and the returning Rhodes, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

If Rhodes is set to return during WrestleMania weekend, that likely means a return/debut will happen as part of the show, similar to how the Hardy Boyz returned at WrestleMania 33 as a surprise team in the tag team ladder match.

It is possible that Rollins could set an open challenge for WrestleMania for anyone to face him so he can have a match, and then have Rhodes’ music play once Rollins is in the ring and has cut a promo, although this plan is purely speculation and hasn’t been confirmed by WWE.

Cody Rhodes was last seen on AEW TV on January 26th when he lost to Sammy Guevara in one of the best ladder matches in modern times for the TNT Championship.
