WoW Kith’ix Boss Guide covers the current PTR version of Midnight 12.1.5’s single-boss raid encounter, including the Voidswarm add waves, Lady Liadrin’s Light mechanics and the final race against Eightfold Eclipse. The fight is still pre-release, so numbers and individual ability tuning can change before the encounter reaches live servers.
The broad structure is already clear enough to prepare for. Kith’ix spends most of the encounter summoning Aqir and building toward Suffocating Darkness, while the raid uses Lady Liadrin’s protection to survive the boss’s heaviest Shadow damage. At 25% health, WoW Kith’ix Boss Guide shifts into a final burn phase where the raid has to kill the boss before the last eclipse overwhelms Liadrin.

Stage One is built around add control, positioning and surviving repeated darkness cycles. Kith’ix opens void portals with Voidswarm, bringing Aqir servants into the fight while the raid continues dealing with the boss.
At 100 energy, Kith’ix casts Suffocating Darkness. Lady Liadrin holds the darkness back and eventually answers with Divine Radiance, clearing the effect and stunning Kith’ix for a short damage window.
The important raid-wide rule is to keep the add waves under control before the darkness cycle. Aqir that survive into Suffocating Darkness can become much more dangerous, turning an already heavy raid-damage phase into a recovery problem.
WoW Kith’ix Boss Guide: Voidswarm adds and target priority
Voidswarm summons several Aqir types, including Venomous Hulks and Voidweavers. Hulks use a frontal Venom Roar, so tanks should keep their facing away from the raid while melee avoid standing in front.
Voidweavers apply ranged Shadow pressure and should not be allowed to sit untouched while the raid tunnels Kith’ix. On higher difficulties, extra add mechanics make clean target priority even more important.
Kith’ix also has Commanding Presence, which reduces damage taken by nearby Aqir. Tanks may need to create space between the boss and adds so the raid can kill the servants efficiently.
WoW Kith’ix Boss Guide: Suffocating Darkness and Lady Liadrin
Suffocating Darkness is the central repeating mechanic. As Kith’ix reaches 100 energy, the room is consumed by darkness while Lady Liadrin works toward Divine Radiance.
Liadrin also creates Light’s Embrace motes that greatly reduce Shadow damage for a short time. Those motes are important for surviving Extinguish, a raid-wide Shadow hit that removes the protection after it lands.
Do not waste the Light’s Embrace protection too early. WoW Kith’ix Boss Guide is much safer when players treat the motes as a response to the heavy Shadow sequence rather than a generic movement buff.
WoW Kith’ix Boss Guide tank mechanics
Dark Devastation is the main tank pressure in the first stage. It leaves the target Devastated, sharply increasing Physical and Shadow damage taken, so tanks should be ready to swap rather than trying to carry repeated stacks.
In the final stage, Negation changes the tank job. The targeted tank gains extreme movement speed and takes more Physical damage, but also gains the ability to interact safely with the Null Gate mechanic. Contact with a Null Gate removes Negation and triggers an explosion that clears nearby gates and Nullshards.
That turns the tank mechanic into controlled arena cleanup. Move deliberately and avoid detonating a gate in the middle of the group.
WoW Kith’ix Boss Guide healer mechanics
Healers need to react quickly to Abyssal Grasp because its heal absorb can drag a player into the darkness if it is not removed in time. The repeating Shadow-damage cycles also make cooldown planning important.
The raid takes substantial pressure during Suffocating Darkness and Extinguish, so healer cooldowns should be coordinated around those predictable events rather than spent randomly on recoverable add damage.
WoW Kith’ix Boss Guide Stage Two at 25% health
At 25% health, Kith’ix uses Stygian Howl and transitions into the final stage. Lady Liadrin responds with Last Light, fully healing the raid and granting Luminous Grace, which sharply increases damage and healing.
This is the burn phase. Kith’ix begins Eightfold Eclipse, manifesting repeated eclipses that damage the raid before eventually converging on Liadrin. If the final sequence completes, the raid dies.
WoW Kith’ix Boss Guide therefore becomes a race at 25%. Save enough offensive power for the final stage while still respecting the remaining Null Gate and movement mechanics.
Null Gates, Nullshards and positioning
Kith’ix targets players with Null Gate, creating dangerous zones that also scatter Nullshards. Touching Nullshards applies Nullify, and too many stacks become lethal.
Place gates away from the center of the raid whenever possible. Tanks affected by Negation can later use the gate interaction to clear space, so disciplined placement creates a much cleaner final stage than scattering hazards through every safe area.
What can change in WoW Kith’ix Boss Guide before launch
This guide is based on the current 12.1.5 PTR encounter journal and raid testing. Ability names and the overall two-stage structure are strong preparation points, but damage values, timings and difficulty-specific mechanics can still be tuned before release.
Once Kith’ix is live, the page should be updated with confirmed timing, final Mythic differences and any mechanic interactions that behave differently from the PTR build.
