WoW Keystone Myth Season 2: 3600 Rating Requirement

WoW Keystone Myth Season 2

WoW Keystone Myth Season 2 returns with Midnight 12.1.5 and requires a Mythic+ rating of 3600, giving high-end dungeon players a new second-half Season 2 achievement target.

Blizzard says the 3600 requirement reflects current rating data, dungeon difficulty and the extra gearing still arriving in 12.1.5. Targeted dungeon tuning will also land when Keystone Myth returns, specifically to address difficulty outliers.

The 3600 target makes WoW Keystone Myth Season 2 a late-season mastery goal rather than another early gearing achievement. Blizzard explicitly says Keystone Myth is meant to provide a meaningful challenge during the second half of each season.

The current Season 2 system should not be confused with the later WoW Midnight Season 3 Mythic+ Dungeons coverage, which belongs to Eclipse.

Why Keystone Myth is returning mid-season

Blizzard is using the mid-season power increase to reopen the top-end rating chase. Kith’ix, Kindo’jan, Ascendant Venomstones and the lifted crest cap all create new ways to strengthen a character before pushing higher keys.

That means WoW Keystone Myth Season 2 arrives alongside more power rather than asking players to reach 3600 under exactly the same gearing ceiling they had at the start of Season 2.

Targeted dungeon tuning comes with the achievement

The September 29 announcement says Blizzard will make targeted tuning adjustments to address difficulty outliers when Keystone Myth returns. It does not publish the full dungeon-by-dungeon tuning list in that announcement.

A useful guide should therefore keep the 3600 requirement firm while leaving room to update the hardest and easiest keys once Blizzard posts the actual tuning notes.

How Ascendant Venomstones help Mythic+ players

WoW Ascendant Venomstones can drop from +10 and higher Mythic+ dungeons once the system unlocks. Ten stones can raise the item level of a fully upgraded qualifying Season 2 weapon, trinket or necklace.

For WoW Keystone Myth Season 2, that creates a feedback loop: high keys can supply the new upgrade resource, and the stronger item can then support the push toward the 3600 rating requirement.

Kith’ix and Kindo’jan add alternative gearing

Raiders gain the Kith’ix encounter, while solo-focused players get high-end Kindo’jan progression and Tier 11 challenge content. Those systems give players more ways to improve weak slots before returning to the hardest keys.

The complete WoW Midnight Season 2 Gearing route is useful if you are chasing WoW Keystone Myth Season 2 but do not want to rely on Mythic+ drops alone.

What to do before October 13

Continue raising rating and identify the dungeons where your score has the most room to improve. There is no reason to wait for 12.1.5 if a lower key is currently holding the overall rating down.

Once WoW Keystone Myth Season 2 goes live, reassess after the dungeon tuning and the new gearing systems. A key that felt disproportionately punishing before the patch may not occupy exactly the same place in the push afterward.

WoW Keystone Myth Season 2 will become clearer once Blizzard publishes the targeted dungeon tuning. The rating requirement is fixed at 3600 in today’s announcement, but the path to that number can change when outlier dungeons are adjusted.

Players pushing WoW Keystone Myth Season 2 should keep a record of weaker dungeon scores before the patch. That gives the new gearing and tuning changes a clear target instead of running whichever key happens to appear.

The 3600 requirement is also higher than the ordinary milestone most players use as a seasonal stopping point, which fits Blizzard’s description of Keystone Myth as a late-season mastery challenge. It is meant to give players who already cleared the standard progression ladder another target.

Anyone using WoW Keystone Myth Season 2 as a goal should also watch the Ascendant Venomstone system. +10 and higher keys become one of the currency sources after October 20, so the same activity can improve gear while pushing rating.

The targeted tuning note is important because a 3600 push depends on the whole dungeon pool. One badly overtuned key can distort rating progression, so Blizzard is explicitly pairing the achievement with adjustments rather than only raising the target.

A 3600 push also rewards consistency across the entire pool rather than one spectacular key. Improving the weakest dungeon scores is normally more valuable for total rating than repeatedly pushing the dungeon that is already far ahead, so the mid-season tuning should be reviewed against each character’s actual score spread.

Blizzard has the current first-party details for WoW Keystone Myth Season 2 in the official Midnight 12.1.5 announcement.
