WoW Forever Tokens and Level Boosts are not part of Blizzard’s current plan for World of Warcraft: Forever. Associate production director Clayton Stone says the team has “no plans” for anything like a WoW Token or a purchasable boost in the online shop, with the levelling journey and the community around it treated as part of the point of Forever. That also means there is no announced official real-money-to-gold route through WoW Tokens.
Will WoW Forever Tokens and Level Boosts be sold?

The current answer on WoW Forever Tokens and Level Boosts is no. Blizzard has not described Forever as a server where players can pay to skip the level journey or convert cash into gold through a Token. The wording is specifically “no plans,” which is strong enough for launch expectations without pretending Blizzard has made an unbreakable promise for every future year.
Will WoW Forever have a WoW Token?
A WoW Token is not planned under the announced WoW Forever Tokens and Level Boosts policy. In Retail WoW, Tokens create an official bridge between real-world money, game time and in-game gold. Forever is currently being positioned without that bridge.
That is one of the more meaningful economy differences for players who want a server where gold, levelling and social progression feel closer to the older game. It does not magically remove botting or illicit sellers, but it means Blizzard is not announcing its own cash-to-gold item for Forever.
Will WoW Forever have level boosts?
Purchasable level boosts are also outside the current WoW Forever Tokens and Level Boosts plan. Stone specifically tied that decision to the importance of the journey, which fits a version of WoW built around starting at level 1 and spending time in the world rather than treating max level as the only meaningful destination.
Can you buy gold in WoW Forever?
Under the announced WoW Forever Tokens and Level Boosts approach, there is no official WoW Token route for purchasing gold with real money. Third-party gold sellers are not a legitimate workaround; buying gold through unauthorised services risks scams and account action and should not be treated as an accepted part of the economy.
Players should therefore plan to earn gold through the game itself unless Blizzard later announces a first-party system. Professions, trading, drops, quests and player activity become more important when there is no official Token conversion sitting beside them.
Does Forever still have paid extras?
The absence of WoW Forever Tokens and Level Boosts does not mean World of Warcraft: Forever is a completely payment-free product. Access sits inside the wider WoW subscription/Game Time ecosystem, and Blizzard has offered optional upgrade packages around the Forever launch and beta.
The useful distinction is what those purchases do. Cosmetics, access packages or account products are not the same as selling a max-level character or a Token that can be converted into gold.
Why Blizzard wants the levelling journey to matter
The philosophy behind WoW Forever Tokens and Level Boosts is community. Older WoW progression puts players in zones together for longer, makes dungeon groups and professions relevant during levelling, and gives a server time to develop an economy before everyone is funnelled into one endgame loop.
A paid boost compresses that process. A Token can also change how players think about gold by attaching a direct cash value to it. Forever’s current design is deliberately trying to avoid both pressures at launch.
Could Blizzard add Tokens or boosts later?
Possibly, because “no plans” is not the same wording as “never.” The safest way to describe WoW Forever Tokens and Level Boosts is that they are not planned for the announced version of Forever. If Blizzard changes that policy later, it would be a new decision rather than something already built into the launch.
That nuance matters because Forever is intended as a persistent game that keeps growing. A current design promise can be meaningful without pretending the project will be frozen forever.
What should players expect at launch?
- Start at level 1 and expect the levelling journey to matter.
- Do not plan around buying an official character level boost.
- Do not plan around converting real money into gold through a WoW Token.
- Use normal in-game gold-making systems and player trading instead.
- Treat any future monetisation change as a new announcement that needs to be judged on its own.
Blizzard’s official World of Warcraft: Forever overview covers the wider November 4 launch, while our WoW Forever release-date guide tracks the schedule. For now, WoW Forever Tokens and Level Boosts have a clear launch answer: neither is planned, and the absence of a Token also means no announced official cash-for-gold route.
