WoW Forever New Dungeons and Raids: All Nine Dungeons and Three Raids

WoW Forever new dungeons and raids

WoW Forever new dungeons and raids include nine five-player dungeons spanning levels 13–60, followed by three level-60 raids on December 9, 2026. Blizzard has now published the exact zones, level ranges and raid sizes. Barrow Deeps is built for 10 players, Hyjal Summit for 20 and Onyxia’s Lair for 40.

WoW Forever new dungeons and raids are spread across the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor, and the first dungeons are accessible well before endgame. Onyxia also has a mandatory faction attunement chain: every player needs a Drakefire Amulet in their inventory, earned through quests and Blackrock Spire. Here’s the full confirmed lineup and what you need before your group enters.

Blizzard’s WoW Forever new dungeons and raids rollout includes nine five-player dungeons, with the raids detailed separately below. The table shows their intended level ranges and entrance locations, including two instances beside faction capitals. Several are aimed at characters well below level 60.

Dungeon Level Entrance area
Hall of Thanes 13–18 Beneath Ironforge, Dun Morogh
Ruins of Lordaeron 15–20 Above the Undercity, Tirisfal Glades
Excavation Site 24–29 Near Thelgen Rock and Dun Algaz, Wetlands
City of Dalaran 28–33 Alterac Mountains
The Drowned City 35–40 Off Stranglethorn Vale, west of Grom’gol
Krol’dok Stronghold 40–45 Riverglades
Alcaz Prison 48–53 Alcaz Island, Dustwallow Marsh
Blackmaw Hold 55–60 Azshara
Shaper’s Terrace 58–60 Northern Un’Goro Crater

Hall of Thanes and Ruins of Lordaeron open up early group content in faction-controlled areas. At the higher levels, Blackmaw Hold and Shaper’s Terrace take groups into furbolg ruins and Titan machinery. The WoW Forever new dungeons and raids progression therefore follows the 1–60 journey rather than starting only at level 60.

WoW Forever new dungeons and raids: Dungeon access and attunements

Access to WoW Forever new dungeons and raids varies by instance. Some entrances can be reached directly, while other locations need an extra step. City of Dalaran requires a faction-specific attunement: Alliance characters begin An Alarming Request with Emissary Jacques in Southshore, while Horde players take Key to the City and Prison Break-In from Magus Wordeen Voidglare in Tarren Mill.

For The Drowned City, swim below the water off the western Stranglethorn coast. Shaper’s Terrace uses power crystals gathered around Un’Goro at consoles within the dungeon. Blizzard describes multiple routes and boss encounters for Blackmaw Hold, which also connects to the approach to Barrow Deeps.

Blizzard has not published comprehensive final boss tables and item drops for every dungeon, so the WoW Forever new dungeons and raids level and entrance information is the confirmed starting point. Individual boss guides are best built from the final release version, particularly where quest or encounter order can change.

WoW Forever new dungeons and raids: Three December 9 raids

The first raid wave opens on December 9, 2026, just over a month after the November 4 Forever launch. Blizzard has confirmed three raids with different group sizes, all currently planned to reset weekly.

Where to enter Barrow Deeps and Hyjal Summit

Barrow Deeps lies deep beneath Mount Hyjal in the former prison that held Illidan Stormrage for 10,000 years. Blizzard describes entrances and routes connected through Mount Hyjal, Winterspring and Blackmaw Hold, so your group has more than one approach. Its eight bosses are aimed at 10-player teams.

Hyjal Summit is on the summit of Mount Hyjal near the World Tree Nordrassil. The 20-player raid contains 13 bosses. After an opening encounter with an ancient guardian, groups can take different paths through the mountain and surrounding ruins. Blizzard has confirmed the branching structure but not the complete boss-by-boss strategy for every route.

Both of these raids are in the Mount Hyjal region. Learning how to reach the new zone ahead of December 9 should make the first raid night easier, especially if your group plans to use the Winterspring or Blackmaw Hold approach to Barrow Deeps.

Onyxia’s Lair: 40 players and the Drakefire Amulet

Onyxia’s Lair is the third December 9 raid, located in Dustwallow Marsh for 40 level-60 players. Onyxia is a three-phase dragon encounter with powerful Fire attacks. Blizzard recommends preparing Fire Resistance and coordinating movement as the fight changes phases.

Every player entering needs their own Drakefire Amulet in their inventory. The item does not need to be equipped, but a raid leader possessing one will not let unattuned teammates inside. Alliance and Horde have different long quest chains, both ending with General Drakkisath in Upper Blackrock Spire.

How to prepare for Onyxia attunement

Alliance players start with Dragonkin Menace from Helendis Riverhorn in Burning Steppes and later rescue Marshal Windsor in Blackrock Depths. Horde players begin with Blood and Thunder at Kargath, then follow quests involving Thrall, Rexxar and Emberstrife. Both factions must obtain the Blood of the Black Dragon Champion from General Drakkisath in Upper Blackrock Spire.

Our step-by-step Onyxia attunement guide gives the quest order for both factions, so you can prepare before the December 9 raid opening.

When will WoW Forever new dungeons and raids be playable?

The nine dungeons become part of the Forever levelling journey from the November 4 launch, while Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit and Onyxia’s Lair unlock on December 9. Blizzard currently plans weekly raid resets. The studio hasn’t provided exact UK raid-opening hours in its October 20 overview.
