Unown is far more valuable as a collectible than as a battle Pokémon, but its weakness profile is still useful to know.

How to Get Unown P in Pokémon GO
The best way to get Unown P Pokémon GO is during a special event that specifically features the P form.
Unown can technically appear in the wild outside events, but ordinary encounters are exceptionally rare. Pokémon GO has repeatedly used selected Unown letters during live events and other special celebrations, with the exact forms changing depending on the event.
This means watching upcoming event announcements is one of the most practical ways to complete an Unown collection.
Is Unown P Available in the Wild?
Yes, but finding it outside an event is extremely difficult.
Unown can appear naturally in Pokémon GO, but it is one of the game’s rarest wild encounters. Even if you are lucky enough to find one, there is no guarantee it will be the P form.
Trying to deliberately hunt Unown P Pokémon GO through everyday wild spawns is therefore not a realistic strategy for most Trainers.
Waiting for an event featuring P or trading for one is usually much easier.
Can Unown P Be Shiny in Pokémon GO?
Yes. Shiny Unown P Pokémon GO is available.
Unown is included among Pokémon with available Shiny forms, although the exact Shiny availability of an individual Unown event encounter should always be checked when that event is announced.
Because opportunities to encounter Unown P can be limited, Shiny hunting the P form is considerably harder than hunting a Pokémon that regularly appears in the wild.
An event offering repeated Unown P encounters can therefore be particularly valuable.
Unown P Pokémon GO Stats
All Unown forms share the same underlying stats.
336This means Unown P Pokémon GO performs exactly the same as Unown A, G, M or any other letter.
Its main appeal comes from rarity and completing the collection rather than battle strength.

Is Unown P Rare in Pokémon GO?
Yes. Unown P Pokémon GO is extremely rare outside special events.
The practical rarity of each Unown form depends heavily on how often it has appeared in past events and how widely accessible those events were.
A letter can become relatively easy to obtain during one event and then return to being almost impossible to deliberately find once the event ends.
Whenever P is announced for an event you can access, it is worth prioritizing it while the opportunity is available.
Can You Trade Unown P?
Yes.
Trading is one of the best ways to complete an Unown collection because different Trainers will often have duplicates from different events.
Someone who previously attended an event featuring Unown P may have spare copies available.
If you catch several Unown P Pokémon GO during an event, keeping at least one duplicate can therefore be useful for future trades.
Should You Keep Duplicate Unown P?
Usually, yes.
Duplicate Unown letters can become surprisingly valuable when you start filling the final gaps in your collection.
Another Trainer may desperately need P while having several copies of a letter that you still need.
Keeping spare event Unown gives you much more flexibility when arranging those trades later.
Why Unown Events Matter
Events are the main reason completing the Unown alphabet is realistically possible.
Pokémon GO frequently features selected letters in greater numbers during special events, while normal Unown spawns remain extremely rare.
That means Unown P Pokémon GO can go from virtually impossible to deliberately hunt to relatively accessible for a short period if P appears in an event pool.
Once that event ends, the opportunity may disappear again.
