If you’re searching for Resident Evil Requiem Lockpick Locations, you’re likely trying to open every locked drawer and locker inside the Care Center. Lockpicks are limited resources in the early stages of the game, and knowing exactly where to find them – and what rewards they unlock – can make a huge difference to your survival.
There are five Lockpicks available during your time in the Care Center, and five locked containers that reward you with valuable crafting materials. Here’s everything you need to know.
What Are Lockpicks Used For in Resident Evil Requiem?
Lockpicks are primarily used by Grace to open secured drawers and lockers scattered throughout the Care Center.
Each locked container contains Rare Metal, a key crafting component required to create 12.7x55mm ammunition for the powerful Requiem handgun.
Because Rare Metal is limited, using Lockpicks efficiently is important if you want access to some of the strongest ammunition in the early game.
Care Center – First Floor Lockpick Locations

As you explore the Care Center’s first floor, you’ll naturally unlock new areas using Keycards and ID Wristbands. Keep an eye out in side rooms and offices, as that’s where your first Lockpick can be found.
Lockpick Location – Custodian’s Office (West Wing 1F)
- Found inside a locker in the Custodian’s Office.
- This room also contains a save point and item box, making it a safe stopping area.
Locked Drawer Locations – First Floor
Once you’ve picked up your first Lockpick, you can use it in the following areas:
- West Wing 1F: Restroom Corridor – At the end of the hallway just outside the Restroom.
- East Wing 1F: Lobby – Positioned near a Mr. Raccoon collectible.
If you’re exploring thoroughly, you’ll likely encounter these early on.
Care Center – Second Floor Lockpick Locations

The second floor contains two additional Lockpicks, and depending on your route, you may even encounter a locked drawer before finding them.
Lockpick Location – Lead Researcher’s Office (East Wing 2F)
- Found on a table near the reception area.
- This room also includes a save point, so it’s relatively safe to search thoroughly.
Lockpick Location – Office (West Wing 2F)
- Located on a desk surrounded by paperwork.
- Easy to miss if you rush through.
Locked Drawer – Chairman’s Office Area
There is a locked drawer just outside the Chairman’s Office in the West Wing 2F. Make sure you haven’t already used all available Lockpicks before reaching this point.
Care Center Basement Lockpick Locations

The Basement section of the Care Center introduces more tension and environmental hazards, including electrified water areas. You’ll find two more Lockpicks here, but they require a bit more progression.
Lockpick Location – Inspection Shaft
- Found on the ground inside the shaft connecting Inspection to the Workshop area.
Lockpick Location – Boiler Room
To access this safely:
- Remove the Joint Plug from the generator in the main corridor.
- Insert it into the northeastern generator.
- This cuts the electrical hazard in the water puddles.
- Enter the Boiler Room and collect the Lockpick from the ground.
Take your time here – this area can be dangerous.

Locked Locker Locations in the Basement
There are two locked lockers in the Basement:
- Bunkroom – On the left-hand side upon entering.
- Inspection Area – On the left-hand side after moving the forklift.
Make sure you plan your Lockpick usage accordingly, as you only have five total.
What Do Locked Containers Contain?

Every locked drawer and locker rewards you with Rare Metal.
Rare Metal is required to craft 12.7x55mm ammo, which is used by the Requiem handgun. This is one of the most powerful weapons available early in the game.
How to Craft 12.7x55mm Ammo
Before crafting, you must unlock the recipe:
- Obtain the Blood Specimen (Converged) in the East Wing 1F: Waiting Room Closet.
- Analyse it using a microscope.
- Grace will then learn the crafting recipe.
Crafting Requirements:
- 1x Rare Metal
- 80x Infected Blood
- Produces 2x 12.7x55mm ammo
Because Rare Metal is tied directly to Lockpick usage, opening every locked container gives you more opportunities to craft high-damage ammunition.
Should You Use Every Lockpick?
Yes, there are exactly five Lockpicks and five locked containers, meaning you can open everything in a single playthrough if you explore thoroughly.
However, if you miss one, you may lock yourself out of valuable crafting materials.
