Pokémon Legends Z-A Spewpa Mystery Gift gives you a free Spewpa that can evolve into one of 16 Vivillon patterns. Claim it through Link Play > Mystery Gift > Get via Internet before 1:59am GMT on Thursday 19 November 2026. There is no code to enter, and you don’t need Mega Dimension.
The gift celebrates the Switch 2 Edition and Mega Dimension bundle, but works in the original Nintendo Switch game too. Here’s how to get Spewpa, what you need to unlock first and what to expect when it evolves.
How to claim the Pokémon Legends Z-A Spewpa Mystery Gift
Once you have access to Mystery Gift, the Pokémon Legends Z-A Spewpa Mystery Gift is easy to collect. Open the game on Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 and follow these steps:
- Progress through the opening of the game until you unlock the Rewards feature in Mable’s Research.
- Press the X Button to open the main menu.
- Select Link Play, then Mystery Gift.
- Choose Get via Internet and select the Spewpa distribution.
- Receive Spewpa on your save file, then raise it until it can evolve at level 12.
Make sure your player profile is linked to a Nintendo Account and that the console is online. Link Play unlocks after you’ve opened the Rewards feature in Mable’s Research, usually around an hour into the game. The gift is limited to one Spewpa per save file, and Nintendo Switch Online isn’t required.
Pokémon Legends Z-A Spewpa Mystery Gift start time and UK deadline
The giveaway started at 6:00am GMT on 29 October 2026 and finishes at 1:59am GMT on 19 November 2026. That early-morning UK cutoff is easy to overlook if you only see the US announcement, which lists the end as 18 November in Pacific Time.
The deadline is for receiving Spewpa, not evolving it. Once you’ve claimed the Pokémon, you can level it up later. The Pokémon Legends Z-A Spewpa Mystery Gift closes in the early hours of 19 November in the UK, even though the US announcement says 18 November.
Which Vivillon pattern will your gift Spewpa evolve into?
Raise the gifted Spewpa to level 12 and it will evolve into a Vivillon with one of 16 randomly selected patterns. You can’t pick its wings in a menu or enter a code for a particular design.
The 16 possibilities are Icy Snow, Polar, Tundra, Continental, Elegant, Modern, Archipelago, High Plains, Sandstorm, River, Monsoon, Savanna, Sun, Ocean, Jungle and Fancy. The usual Lumiose City patterns, Meadow, Marine and Garden, are excluded from this gift. So is the special Poké Ball Pattern, which belongs to the separate worldwide challenge rather than the standard Spewpa distribution.
The 16 designs are different from the three usually found around Lumiose City. If you’ve already caught Meadow, Marine and Garden, the Pokémon Legends Z-A Spewpa Mystery Gift offers a chance to add another pattern, although you can’t choose which one you’ll receive.
Does the Spewpa gift count towards the Vivillon Challenge?
Yes. Evolving the gifted Spewpa contributes Vivillon Points towards the 660,000-point global target. Players worldwide are taking part, and the total also increases when they evolve Spewpa obtained from wild zones or side missions. You do not need a Mystery Gift Spewpa to help with the event.
There’s also a community prize: Poké Ball Pattern Vivillon. Pokémon will announce its distribution details separately after the worldwide goal is reached. Receiving the Pokémon Legends Z-A Spewpa Mystery Gift doesn’t automatically give you that rare form.
You can see the campaign tally on the official Vivillon Challenge website. Its progress counter refreshes hourly, so it is normal for an evolution not to appear as an instantaneous public update.
Why is the Spewpa Mystery Gift option missing?
If Spewpa isn’t appearing in Mystery Gift, check your story progress first. You must unlock Rewards in Mable’s Research before the Link Play menu becomes available.
Next, check that the user profile is linked to a Nintendo Account, the console is connected to the internet, and you have chosen Get via Internet, not the password-entry option. The promotion works with the standard Switch edition and Switch 2 Edition, in both physical and digital copies. Buying the DLC does not unlock this particular gift.
Finally, remember that it can only be received once per save file. If you have already collected it, the distribution cannot be claimed a second time on that save.
The Pokémon Legends Z-A Spewpa Mystery Gift is worth claiming before the deadline, even if you aren’t ready to evolve Spewpa yet. Once it reaches level 12, you’ll discover which Vivillon pattern it has.
