The Water Festival GO Pass begins at 10:00 a.m. local time on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 and remains active until 8:00 p.m. local time on Monday, August 24.
Every Trainer receives the standard Pokémon GO Water Festival GO Pass automatically. A paid GO Pass Deluxe will also be available for players who want additional rewards and faster progression.
Pokémon GO Water Festival GO Pass Dates
The Pokémon GO Water Festival GO Pass runs alongside the main Water Festival event.
| Water Festival GO Pass | Date and time |
|---|---|
| GO Pass begins | August 18 at 10:00 a.m. local time |
| GO Pass progression ends | August 24 at 8:00 p.m. local time |
| Unclaimed rewards expire | August 26 at 8:00 p.m. local time |
Players can earn GO Points and progress through the Water Festival GO Pass until the event ends on August 24.
There is then an additional period to collect unlocked rewards.
Any Water Festival GO Pass rewards that have not been claimed will expire at 8:00 p.m. local time on Wednesday, August 26.
Is the Pokémon GO Water Festival GO Pass Free?
Yes.
Every Trainer automatically receives the standard Pokémon GO Water Festival GO Pass when it becomes available on August 18.
There is no ticket or purchase required to access the free progression track.
Players earn GO Points by completing Pass Tasks. Collecting GO Points increases the player’s rank and unlocks rewards as they progress.
The free Water Festival GO Pass includes Pokémon encounters and useful items alongside additional bonuses unlocked at major rank milestones.
Pokémon GO Water Festival GO Pass Rewards
The full rank-by-rank Water Festival GO Pass reward list has not yet been officially revealed.
However, several rewards included in the free track have already been confirmed.
The standard Pokémon GO Water Festival GO Pass includes:
| Confirmed free reward | Included |
|---|---|
| Event-themed Pokémon encounters | Yes |
| Rainy Lure Module | Yes |
| Rare Candy | Yes |
| Golden Razz Berries | Yes |
| Additional rewards | Yes |
Arrokuda and Cramorant are among the Pokémon connected to the Water Festival GO Pass.
Arrokuda makes its Pokémon GO debut during the event and can be encountered through the GO Pass, Field Research and Rainy Lure Modules.
Cramorant also makes its Pokémon GO debut and will be available through the GO Pass, Eggs and GO Battle League reward encounters.
Water Festival GO Pass Rank 10 Bonus
Reaching Rank 10 on the Pokémon GO Water Festival GO Pass unlocks a major event bonus.
At Rank 10, Trainers receive double Candy for catching Pokémon.
Once unlocked, this bonus remains available during the Water Festival event period.
The bonus is particularly relevant because the event introduces Arrokuda and its evolution Barraskewda.
Arrokuda requires 50 Arrokuda Candy to evolve into Barraskewda.
Water Festival GO Pass Rank 20 Bonus
The second confirmed major bonus is unlocked at Rank 20.
Reaching Rank 20 on the Water Festival GO Pass unlocks half Egg Hatch Distance for Eggs placed into an Incubator during the event period.
The reduced distance only applies when the Egg is placed into an Incubator while the bonus and event are active.
Cramorant is one of the Pokémon making its Pokémon GO debut through Eggs during Water Festival, giving the hatch-distance bonus additional relevance during the event.
Water Festival Catch XP and Stardust Bonuses
The main Water Festival event also includes increasing XP and Stardust bonuses that do not depend on the GO Pass rank.
From August 18 at 10:00 a.m. until August 20 at 10:00 a.m. local time, Trainers receive double catch XP and triple catch Stardust.
The bonuses then increase.
| Dates | Catch XP | Catch Stardust |
|---|---|---|
| August 18 to August 20 | 2x XP | 3x Stardust |
| August 20 to August 22 | 3x XP | 4x Stardust |
| August 22 to August 24 | 4x XP | 5x Stardust |
The final stage therefore provides four times the normal XP and five times the normal Stardust for catching Pokémon.
These event bonuses can be used alongside the additional bonuses unlocked from the Water Festival GO Pass.
How Much Is the Water Festival GO Pass Deluxe?
The Pokémon GO Water Festival GO Pass Deluxe costs US$4.99 or the equivalent local pricing tier.
GO Pass Deluxe is the paid version of the event Pass.
Players who upgrade receive access to the free rewards as well as additional Deluxe rewards.
The Deluxe track also offers faster progression.
Players do not need to purchase the Deluxe version immediately when the event begins.
An upgrade can be purchased later during the event, with previously unlocked Deluxe rewards becoming available for eligible ranks already reached.
What Is GO Pass Deluxe Plus 6 Ranks?
A second paid option is also available during the Water Festival.
GO Pass Deluxe plus 6 Ranks costs US$6.99 or the equivalent local pricing tier.
Purchasing this option provides the Deluxe Pass and automatically awards enough GO Points to reach Rank 7.
This does not complete the Water Festival GO Pass.
Players still need to continue earning GO Points after Rank 7 to progress through the remaining ranks and unlock later rewards and bonuses.
Pokémon GO Water Festival GO Pass Deluxe Rewards
The Water Festival GO Pass Deluxe includes all rewards available through the free track plus additional premium rewards.
Confirmed Deluxe rewards include:
| Confirmed Deluxe reward | Included |
|---|---|
| Event-themed avatar item | Yes |
| Additional event Pokémon encounters | Yes |
| Silver Pinap Berries | Yes |
| Rare Candy XL | Yes |
| Incubator | Yes |
| Additional premium rewards | Yes |
The exact complete rank-by-rank placement of these rewards has not yet been officially announced.
Players will be able to see the full progression track when the Water Festival GO Pass becomes available in Pokémon GO.
Can You Upgrade to Water Festival GO Pass Deluxe Later?
Yes.
Players can begin with the free Pokémon GO Water Festival GO Pass and upgrade to the Deluxe version later.
Previously unlocked Deluxe rewards can still be claimed after upgrading, provided the player has already reached the required ranks.
This means Trainers do not have to decide whether to buy the Deluxe track before beginning their free Water Festival GO Pass progression.
What Pokémon Are Available From the Water Festival GO Pass?
Arrokuda and Cramorant are both confirmed as part of the Water Festival GO Pass.
Arrokuda is a new Pokémon GO debut for the event.
It can also be obtained through Field Research and Rainy Lure Modules.
Players can use 50 Arrokuda Candy to evolve Arrokuda into Barraskewda.
Cramorant also makes its Pokémon GO debut during Water Festival and can be obtained through the GO Pass.
Outside the Pass, Cramorant will be available from Eggs and as a GO Battle League reward encounter beginning at Rank 16.
When Do Water Festival GO Pass Rewards Expire?
The Pokémon GO Water Festival GO Pass itself stops accepting progression at 8:00 p.m. local time on August 24.
However, unlocked rewards remain claimable for another two days.
The final deadline is Wednesday, August 26 at 8:00 p.m. local time.
Any unlocked Water Festival GO Pass rewards that have not been claimed by that time will expire.
Players should therefore check the Pass after finishing their progression and collect anything that remains before the August 26 deadline.
The Pokémon GO Water Festival GO Pass begins automatically for all Trainers on August 18, with the free track providing rewards and major bonuses at Rank 10 and Rank 20, while the optional Deluxe versions add further items, encounters and faster progression.
